The ambulance was out within 1 minute of tone off and the Heavy Rescue was just waiting for a crew. Plus we had an additional ambulance and heavy rescue coming from our other station.

They are volunteer fire company, pretty sure they are waiting for more people to show up. In my town, sometimes in the rush hour, you can only get like 3 or 4 qualified FF for a call.

That's one huge ass truck for a volly dept... what is the population of the area served here and how many dept members?

my condolences, my pa (grandfather) was a firie too and had an appliance escort the funeral procession, was a nice touch. yes I'm Australian.

Meanwhile while the building is burning down the rescue takes forever to get out.. Since it's a v.f. Dept there is no turnout time out dept has a 30 second turn out to leave for any priority call

Not usually one to get into discussions but it seems necessary here, first off it seems you are either a fire fighter or a person that enjoys them. Which is surprising that you would criticize these volunteers here. Yes you see these are volunteers, normal people that live different distances away from the fire station meaning different response times. This delays the exit of trucks out of the station due to lack of man power, which, if you had cared to look into is why the rescue was delayed, it was due to the lack of man power. Secondly, you say that your department "has a 30 second turn out to leave for any priority call" which is impossible for a volunteer department. Completely impossible unless your department is a paid department with members in the station at all times. If you're in a paid department there is no way shape or form to compare the response times of paid vs volunteer departments. Its completely outrageous of course a paid department is going to have a better turnout time then a volunteer one. There is no way in any universe that a volunteer department can get to the station from their work, home, etc. dress into to turnout gear and get on the truck with a good amount of man power in 30 seconds. Unless your volunteer members can fly and have the speed of flash it is impossible. Last, which I am completely surprised you even said this "Meanwhile while the building is burning down the rescue takes forever to get out.." you obviously neglected to look at that piece of text a mere inch or two from the play button "East Farmingdale FD, Crown Manor station, responding to an MVA." Do you know what a MVA is? A Motor Vehicle Accident which is NOT a building/structure/dwelling fire they are two separate things. While yes they may have taken long to turnout you again cant compare the response of a building fire to one of a MVA.

That I can understand but in any department who has a most percentage of volunteers response time is critical and especially in rural areas most towns firefighters are allowed to respond right to the scene in a pov but I am not 'knocking' anyone here just simply stating my own opinion into this just saying when a life is at risk it's imperative to move quickly and arrive quickly to assist that's all I'm trying to say.
