The EFF and MK are not good for South Africa. Why? Because the West/Markets do not like them. It does not matter what you think, South Africa cannot flourish without the West. Russian and China will not and cannot offer the same future for this country. So many people in the country have forgetten or simple prefer to remain uninformed about the fact that the West/Markets forced the National Party to end apartheid and free Mandela. They also prefer to forget that one of the strongest and most outspoken anti apartheid voices in this country was Helen Zille and the Black Sash. EFF supporters this is a message to you. Learn your history. There are many white voices that fought for the end of oppression.

This is a progressive move by EFF. My heart is bleeding as I see my vote being used to reverse the gains of African people

You are intellectually dishonest. EFF went from 10.80% (11%) to 9.52% (10%). A swing of 1 percentage point. DA did not take any seats from ANC but moved from 20.77% (21%) to 21.81% (22%) a swing of 1 percentage point taking back 3 of the 5 seats Maimane lost to FF+. In turn FF+ moved from 2.38% (2%) to 1.36% (1%). All these three parties moved by 1 percentage point. The people are not a monolith and did not agree on a single party. The ones that were rejected are not in parliament. ANC with the highest swing of 17pp from 57.5% to 40.2% is still forming a government.

On the same press conference he said that they won't compromise on the EFF's 7 cardinal pillars. It's a take it or leave it if the ANC doesn't accept. So I guess the ANC didn't accept to push the EFF's cardinal pillars

Now that EFF has permanently lost KZN constituency I really do not see this guy surviving within the ranks of his Party, the only reason why he was parachuted to the post he occupies. I wouldn't be surprised if he switch floors to his home province politics soon.😂

Nothing permanent in politics. In 1994 IFP was very strong in KZN, by 2009 they were annihilated & in 2014 it got worse. In 2024 they are back leading the Province albeit in an uneasy coalition. MK party is here for a quick time, not a long time. 2029 there will be another re-orientation…disillusioned voters in all parties will be finding new political homes.

Further, what about the parties except for da and ff+, that have already joined the current gnu. Does it mean that they have to be re-invited by anc and eff under the new agreement of intent? Or put differently, is eff looking for a coalition with anc and rope in one or two smaller parties. Can eff be clear on this proposal.

An ANC-DA coalition would give stability, peace, and economic growth. DA did not take any seats from ANC but moved from 20.77% (21%) to 21.81% (22%) a swing of 1 percentage point taking back 3 of the 5 seats Maimane lost to FF+. In turn FF+ moved from 2.38% (2%) to 1.36% (1%). All these three parties moved by 1 percentage point. The only party that can form a government is ANC either a minority government or coalition. All the other parties can’t form a minority government and none of them DA included can form a coalition without ANC. So who is the winner?
