    @@zeroryuj6093 Granted, even in KOTOR (where Mando'a first appeared) you rarely see Mandalorians speak Mando'a beyond just using some minor terms or quotes. It's pretty clear that the language died out at some point, and is now in the same boat as Latin, being used for cultural purposes rather than as a living language. Maybe it could get the Hebrew treatment, but in a galaxy as interconnected as Star Wars, it's unlikely. Especially with the adoption of random people into the clans, who would all be fluent in Basic. The Clone Wars Mandalorians are still my favourite depiction, because they show a natural consequence of what a warrior culture will have to end up. Either embrace an actual civilized way of life, like Satine and her New Mandalorians did, or end up being a despised collection of terrorists like Death Watch. People who adored Mandalorians (way before the show) were always ignoring that in every depiction they were fucking villains - raiding and pillaging and being an all around worse bunch of people than the Empire.

    Bo Katan, by being a part of Death Watch in Clone Wars, plays a big role in the fall of Mandalore. Death Watch wanted to overthrow the Mandalorian ruler in order to make Mandalore a planet of warriors, as the general population had fallen away from being warriors. Maul taking over not only split Death Watch in two, but also split the larger Mandalorian populous. This means that Bo Katan is one of the main people that was directly involved in bringing Mandalore’s downfall. Unfortunately we never see any of that addressed in this show. By all accounts (if the creators gave even a single shit about good writing) with how much Bo talks about hating Mandalorians killing and fighting each other, you’d think it would be a huge plot point that various Mandalorian factions blame her for how scattered they are. She might even blame herself in some manner. But we never touch on it ever…Thanks for forgetting about your own past work Dave, very cool. Edit: I forgot that because of what this episode reveals, Bo Katan essentially fucked Mandalore over in two separate major events, both of which were largely her fault. But we don’t talk about that..:

Which is not surprising. Dave Filoni considers the Saturday Morning cartoon the pinnacle of art and all his shows are just that; very expensive cartoons.

    It probably makes more sense if you consider that Grogu was in that 'shell/transport' for years, they tracked him down using the fob, but it's not clear how he got there, from the timeline of his escape until being captured by Pershing and company. I don't recall if they ever captured grogu, or he was used as bait to lure out more jedi, sic. Which I think was the plot from Obi-Wan, that they used a lot of moral baiting to capture/kill jedi and promote fear/empire loyalty. And they likely used the underground railway to isolate and move people off-world for recruitment and processing, preventing local rebellion or militia's taking in potential Jedi children or loyalists/renegades. Especially since grogu transposes from infant, to toddler, to teenager as the scene demands it... I would imagine he's more likely to be a 5-6 year old equivalent (Yoda being ~900, Grogu being ~50), should be able to talk and mature as the situation evolves and feels comfortable surviving and adapting. But, they never want that to happen, so it's going to be difficult to get progress or growth. My pet theory is that Grogu is an escaped clone of Palpatine, which explains why he can't talk, or people would notice him saying "good, gooood" ... now we know who Rey's Father is, sic. It was Grogu behind the empire all along! WRITING! It would be somewhat more exciting than the Dark Forces + imperial remnant thing going on now.

Regardless, Chancellor Palpatine sent lots of people and resources to investigate the beast afterward because its hide was impenetrable to lightsabers. Sabine also invented a super walker in her past that specifically targets beskar and vaporises anyone wearing it, all of which happened before the purge, and yet NONE OF THIS IS EVER MENTIONED.

This sometimes results in the choice of less than perfect nest sites, particularly in towns.* *Nests have been found in boathouses, wood piles, old crow's nests, hay stacks, roof gardens, enclosed courtyards and even in large flowerpots on balconies several floors up!* *The female mallard builds a nest from leaves and grasses and lines it with down plucked from her breast. They have a grunt unit that is seemingly endless, they have a mini boss unit that is unique to the season and will have it's own dedicated boss fight scene(s), and the big bad themselves. Season 1 had Stormtroopers, Death Troopers and Gideon. Season 2 had Stormtroopers, Dark Troopers and Gideon. Boba Fett had Pike Syndicate grunts, Cad Bane, and then the Syndicate boss. Season 3 gives Gideon a new grunt with Armored Commandos and a new mini boss with Praetorians with him in a new suit at the end. Mandalorians in the lore are supposed to be the most feared warriors second only to force users. They were coordinated and competent enough to challenge the Jedi. They were the highest paid bounty hunters in the galaxy, and the Jedi had to fight to stop their expansion. Their leaders during the clone war held his own in light saber combat (no force) against Darth Maul, and the group was able to capture Obi Wan, twice. This new group is absolutely embarrassing.

    No non-force user should be able to last more than a few seconds in a 1v1 against any force user. Even discounting mind tricks and telekinesis, the force user's precognition should make it impossible for them to compete. But the writers are stupid.

  • @flatbread42

    @flatbread42

    @@Capt.Thunder if you’re the referring to capturing Obj Wan, what about the clones in order 66? Many sources of more including the movies say the Jedis’ abilities to use the force had diminished gradually over the war, and if you over whelm them, which Visla did, they die. If you’re talking about the fight with Maul, first he agreed to no force to flex, but also, General Grievous? General Grievous is a normal human that was augmented with cybernetic enhancements and was the most famous Jedi killer at the time. Jedi can’t just passively see the future, they have heightened reflexes, but it’s not like they are untouchable by non-forceusers and that’s been shown many times in Star Wars.

  • @Capt.Thunder

    @Capt.Thunder

    Жыл бұрын

    @@flatbread42 It depends upon the force sensitivity of the Jedi in question, and I haven't stated that they are untouchable, merely that in a 1v1 non-force users stand no chance whatsoever, unless the force sensitive person is weak or untrained. In most cases, Jedi are killed through being overwhelmed, and often through ambush where even their precognitive intuition won't be fast enough to save them - Obi Wan is almost hit by artillery in Episode 3, he wasn't prepared for it, and the projectile speed was faster than he and his mount could account for. I never said that they have a television screen in their head that shows them the future, it is instinctive response to things that haven't happened yet and perceiving things in their environment that normal people can't. Grievous is a terrible example, given that he is cybernetically enhanced to a superhuman level in terms of strength, speed and reactions which allows him to "fake" force user fighting prowess. He should have been more vulnerable to telekinesis than he was portrayed, but other than that he is not "a regular person". I think that it's frankly laughable from a canon perspective that a trained sith apprentice as powerful as Darth Maul would struggle against a regular dude who hasn't trained to use a lightsaber in a lightsaber duel. Period. Even if he is deliberately suppressing his precognition, which let's say he can do and is inclined to do out of honour, lightsabers are not a weapon that normal people can effectively use because they are really lightweight compared to any standard weaponry, normal people don't train with them, and they require superhuman reflexes to utilise effectively. I say this as a long-time Star Wars fan. Mandalorians can be very cool if done right, but their advantage was never defeating the Jedi on their own terms, it was the asymmetry of the Mandos playing to their own strengths, cunning use of tech, tactics, mobility, armour and weaponry that the Jedi would struggle to deal with. Jango only dies to Mace Windu because his jetpack gets broken in the chaos of battle by a rampaging Reek, and also the battle is not fought on his terms, he is reacting, he screws up, and he pays the price.

  • @flatbread42

    @flatbread42

    Жыл бұрын

    @@Capt.Thunder the only place I have a comment is the idea visla never trained to fight in a lightsaber duel, that was the whole point of him using the dark saber, so he’d be trained to stand up to the Jedi, and he trained for this purpose from when he was a child. An additional detail is Visla had his armor and additional weapons such as his flamethrower, jet pack, and explosives. So I agree, someone who’s never trained lightsaber combat would definitely lose to Maul, but that’s not what the terms of the fight were.

    My theory as to why people are turning on this season in particular is. 1) They undid Mando and Baby Yoda separating which was a high point for many fans and it introduced us with great many possibilities as to what could happen next and they undid it in a show about Boba Fett (a show not many people watched and now those who watched don’t give a shit about it). 2) I think people are finally starting to realize that it’s been 3 whole ass seasons and not only we didn’t get ANY character development done for neither of our main characters, there is absolutely zero character in our main characters. For example yeah Baby Yoda is a baby but babies have personalities and not to mention that Baby Yoda witnessed Jedi massacre at the temple AND most importantly he was cognizant enough to understand that what was happening is very bad. I mean seriously how much more impactful it would’ve been if when Mando turned Baby Yoda in to the remnants of Empire and as soon and Baby Yoda saw stormtroopers he started to cry and have panic attack to the point where Pershing had to sedate him. But no he a baby goo goo gaa gaa. And Mando too , literally all we know is he witnessed his village/city/planet? Get raided by the Separatists and had his family killed by the droids and that’s why he hates them but what does he think about the clone wars as a whole? What does he think about republic and the Jedi that fought against said droids? We literally know nothing and it’s been 3 FUCKING SEASONS. Even now Mando found an old Separatist loyalist who still believed in the ideas of the faction that ruined his life and all he has to say (after Bo electrocutes him because he shouldn’t be allowed to do that) “Politics… imma right or imma right lol”.

I think it's some of 1, some of Gina backlash, some that this season is more fetch quest than the others (they all are, but episode 1 had him going all over the galaxy to find a droid to act as a Geiger counter when he didn't even need one), some the aimlessness (Din's quest was done almost immediately and then he didn't have much in the way of purpose or goal), and some Din bending the knee to be Bo's simp. The writing quality hasn't changed. It's shit, as always. But the other seasons either didn't have these elements, or didn't have them as strongly.

You may not agree that it's more so, but no other episode had him going to more locations and ultimately for no reason at all than S3E1. It's perhaps one of the most pointless episodes of tv ever. No other character seemed more like an NPC waiting to give a mission more than Bo did in her chair. The whole show is a bit like this, but this season was even more so. Outside of this being my opinion, since the topic isn't what I thought of the show, but what turned people off of this season, this is an actual, IRL, totally verifiably commonly expressed complaint on social media, even among people that actually like the show.

    Just remembering that little bit from the Clone Wars when the Republic and PALPATINE come across the Zillo Beast. A massive gangly kaiju (I guess he fits right in in this show) who's scales were lightsaber proof. It was also force sensitive and tried to kill Palpatine but that's not important. What is important is that Palpatine ended up secretly trying to use those scales to upgrade the clone armour, so that using the clones against the jedi during Order 66 would be more successful. It didn't work, but it showed Palpatine was aware how useful lightsaber proof material was when facing enemies such as the Jedi. So why not use Beskar? Mandalore is a nuetral faction during the clone wars but Death Watch certainly wasn't, they were often aligned with Dooku and had no love for the Jedi. More than that, they were a terrorist group who could certainly benefit from selling it to someone with pockets as deep as Dooku/ Palpatine. If not that, you'd at least think Palpatine would be extremely interested in Mandalore and that resource. Hiring bounty hunters to steal Beskar from Mandalore? No. Pushing for the invasion of Mandalore from either the Republic or Separatist side of the war? No. Just straight up trying to buy it with your vast riches? Nah, sounds too hard. Trying to pry the scales off a pissed off force Godzilla who actively wants to kill you specifically? Sure, why not, great idea.

Filoni might be the 'successor' or 'heir' to George Lucas, but he's only the successor to the bad writing choices- and though both Filoni and Favreau are capable of imitation, they don't match the quality of even the prequels, let alone Andor or the original trilogy.

    I've said this many times before - the Disney Canon Mandos are *nothing* like they were in the EU. A lot of the traditions and culture presented in Canon only first appeared in this brain dead show and were never a thing before - the helmet rule is a prime example of that. And old Mandos were many things but they distained mystical "Jedi Weirdness" - so these cosplayers relying on visions and 'Magic Lightsaber Rules' is just so anti-Mandalorian. Speaking of; the Dark Saber was suddenly made "The Dark Excalibur" by Dave in his Rebels show, which came completely out of left field. In TCW it was just a war trophy that the Mandalorians took from the Jedi Temple, presumably during the Great War between the Republic and Sith Empire (*because that's the only time when Mandalorians took part in an assault on the Jedi Temple). Then again, Dave can't keep any of his shows consistent with each other - like there suddenly being Ancient Mandalorian Noble Houses in Rebels which somehow existed the same time as Mandalore going pacifist during TCW and got rid of their warrior castes.... In the EU, there was Mandalore's Mask, which for a time each Mandalore (aka; King of the Mandalorians) would take from the last one when they are KIA'd or MIA'd and then wear it as the Mando equivalent of a crown. It was eventually lost to the ages and the Mandos just moved on from it because, again, the old Mandos weren't these superstitious retards that the show tries to glorify (Funfact, in the EU, Boba Fett (some time after crawling out of the Sarlacc Pit) became Mandalore himself and last I read anything about him from the EU, he spent his last few decades training his estranged granddaughter to take up the Fett family legacy). Also Beskar was never F@cking Adamantium before this bloody show. It was high grade good quality armor made from an Alloy (not a mineral) that Mandalorians knew how to smith - and it was a tradition that every Mandalorian had to craft or inherit their own set of armor themselves. But again; it was good armor, not F@cking plot armor (and Beskar weapons were never taboo either - they were very common among the Mandos). If you wanted Lightsaber Proof armor, you'd get something like Cortosis - which could very much F@ck up a Lightsaber, but the trade off was that the metal was very, very brittle and was practically cardboard to anything that's not a Lightsaber (and that's why you added it other metals as an alloy to make Lightsaber *resistant* weapons and armor).

    @@sirpepeofhousekek6741 It wasn't impervious - it was resistant. It could be cut through given time and body armor isn't as thick as a door or wall made of it. I do also remember the EU also said the Empire used prisonships with Beskar Cells to hold Jedi.

    The Heir to the Empire books are heavily focused on the main cast of Luke, Han, Leia, Chewie, Lando etc and what their place in the galaxy is now in a post empire world. Thrawn then comes in as a threat to the new republic. Whatever movie Filoni is working on can only really be Heir to the Empire by name (if he he is going to go down that road), unless we got some cgi abominations of the OT gang interacting with Ahsoka, the Rebels characters and Mando lol. Consider as well how easily Thrawn could be fucked up by this level of writing we're getting out the Faverau/Filoni projects.

    I think the main reason people turned around on this show is that their lizerd brains built a resistance to the empty spectacles forming them to thray and think about what's actually happening in the show

    WDW Pro does an interesting video and they talk about what happened after the Season 2 finale of Mando. Lucasfilm was so pissed everyone was so happy Luke was back they decided to shelve him once and for all. It is quite eye opening. It explains a lot about season 3 of Mando and the weird 2 episodes in Book of Boba Fett.

    But there were "too many" of them, apparently. He then kills all of them in 60 seconds then the sequel trilogy shows up and murders him. So if all the mando's had stayed and fought, they would have easily won. We need to remember that the people writing this are the very top of the tier of their field. This is Disney, not some youtube show with 3 subscribers and I would make the case that the YT show would do a better job. This is the way.

    it’s hilarious how terrible the Mandos are at capitalizing on a choke point. there’s no way these people aren’t partially inspired by Spartans and they can’t even copy that. this happened in season 2 with the edgy droids stuck in a narrow corridor. just use the darksaber on them Mando. now you have this guy needing to “sacrifice” himself for some reason despite how strategically terrible it would be for the troopers to follow you.
