ivo linna is in every Estonians heart. He has been to Eurovision in the 90s too.

Always impressed by Eesti Laul and its songs, Elina and Carl Phillip are my favs so far

Estonia doesn't have a single bad song in their National Selection ( I listened to all of them as soon as they were announced). Out of all the ones that we've heard the songs for Estonia has the strongest pack by far.

I actually live for these reaction videos now. I even have notifications set up for them! 😂

Estonia is doing great this year!! They have quite some great songs here! And I'm really proud to see Ivo Linna trying out again with a great entry(for me) capable to fight with his 1996 one... Now, if Maarja-Liis Ilus tried to compete next year, that would be a dream!! Great work as always!

"In Or Out" and "Feel Me Now" are both GORGEOUS! "Hey Kiddo" is cute as well, especially that "Everybody's worrying but why should I?" part :D I know you haven't talked about the 2nd semi final yet, but the 1st one has already one by miles in my opinion

It depends on the songs from the other countries. So far, I like it more than all the songs from Belarus, Switzerland and Finland. I think the Georgian ones are better though.

Carl Philipp gets your attention from the very first note on, awesome beat... but then somehow... it loses it catchiness. By the second chorus I got bored. Still I feel this could win Eesti Laul but wouldn't do too well in Eurovision.

In or Out is my winner. I love her so much and the song is amazing :3

Hey Jean IMHO, it's the weakest Elina's song so far. People got used to her great songs, such as Enough, Goodbye to yesterday, Kilimanjaro etc, so In or out it's just some kind of a letdown. 😊

Carl Phillip is so winning this

This semi-final is much better than the second one. The best entries are here. That's Elina, Lenna, Ariadne and Carl-Phillip. Love these videos, keep them up! :)

From this semi-final I think Ariadne is the best, but my overall winner is Kerli

Elina has an electro swing song that is today very modern, and we already know that she slays when it comes to live performances. If she can deliver even more to the stage and vocaly in the song, the song might slay very high in Eurovision. For now, she is my favourite candidate to win in the Estonian national entry.

"Everything but you" is amazing. It will be in my top 10 for sure in May, if Estonia chose this song.

Another great video but would be fantastic if you could cater for fans of the older contests by doing further research. Ivo represented Estonia in 1996.

Estonia has one of the strongest selections so far in my opinion

Elina is the best in this semi, but overall Kerli has to be my favourite! I have Spirit Animal on repeat

Thank you for reacting this, I was looking forward to it. I can't wait for you to react to the second semi-final, even though I like this semi-final much better. My favorites are Elina Born, Leemit (I really wanted you to react to his chorus, but that's the only chorus you skipped), Carl Philip, Ariadne. From both semi-finals, Elina is definitely my favorite.

So far so good . These songs are all really high quality. 8 out of the 10 are great and even the 2 that aren't Is just because they're retro.

Ivo Linna is an Estonian legend, he's been in Eurovision and did extremely well. Respect him.

Thanks for reaction vid for Semi 1 Eesti Laul. I totally agree with you two. The 5 acts that deserve to be in the final are Carl-Philip, Elina Born, Ariadne, Leena Kurmsalu the one from the Slingshot and the trio with Have Me Now. The act which should go to Eurovision from this semi is definitely Carl-Philip who has a great voice and the production of this song is really good. I love it. Can't wait to watch your reaction to Verona ;3

As much as I love Elina and her song, I don't think Estonia should pick it because I feel like this won't do well at Kiev. It will make the final of course but I feel like it would finish around the middle. Plus the song isn't as good as Goodbye to Yesterday, that song gave me feels. In or Out is a good pop song but just not perfect enough for Eurovision

For me there are 2 stand out entries from this semi, "In or Out" and "Feel Me Now". I don't mind "Slingshot" and "Hurricane" I haven't listened to very much (as in full songs) of the second semi but the only one that's got me to re-listen is "We Ride With Our Flow"

No let down for me - HAIL ESTONIA - How do you do it? You could win with a couple of these gems, I even love the beautiful Ivo especially as it is teaching me a bit of Estonia's lovely language. Choose well Estonia and good luck, Greetings Wales.

Elina didn't deserve to get last in the final for the Estonian Final 2017. In or Out was amazing! I love Verona but I wish she would've performed in Kiev!

Eesti Laul is always amazing. Carl-Philip is disguising a sad story with an up-tempo song. I'm glad you like it! It's my kind of sound. But the winner will probably be Elina Born. (Or Antsud.) :D

Ariadne: I really like her clear voice and the song is simple but amazing! 10/10 Carl-Philip: A catchy song! His vocals are pretty good too! 9/10 Elina: She is my favorite! A really catchy song and I love her voice! 10/10 Ivo Linna: Well, it is not really my style. But I like the language and he has good vocals for his age! 5/10 Janno Reim & Kosmos: Hmm... I think its the worst song in the competition. Nothing special and not my style. 2/10 Karl-Kristjan & Whogaux ft. Maian: Great! I love it! A modern sound and it reminds me of "Closer"! 10/10 Laura Prits: Sounds like summer and makes one happy! But not the best here. 8/10 Leemet Onno: An other weak entry in my opinion. Cheesy! 4/10 Lenna Kuurmaa: This grew on me a lot! I really like it and I think it has really good chances to qualify! 10/10 Uku Suviste: At the release I really liked it! But its an off-grower and nothing special for me! 6/10 Well, I am really surprised by the estonian selection! A lot of strong songs! It would be awesome to see Ariadne, Elina or Karl-Kristjan in Kiev! Slingshot would be really good too! :)

Elina, Whogaux, and Lenna are my absolute favorites in this semi final, but Lenna is my favorite to win!

The Ariadna track has elements of "Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This" by the Eurythmics!

Piano in Slingshot is amazing but in chours song just falling down maybe on stage this will look better. I hope because I really like the beginning of the song. So far this year everybody trying to be radio frendly like Australia with one modern sound and power voices or like Bulgaria with fast song that sound little folk but again modern. EUROVISION IS FAMOUS BECAUSE OF MOVING BOUNDARIES. STEP UP

You should do this with every country :)

'1960s barnyard stomper' hahaha 😂 I'm not a massive fan of a lot of the songs from this semi personally, but I do like Karl-Kristjan, Whogaux & Maian - Have You Now. I felt like you were getting it a bit William, the vocals remind me of the opening song to The Bridge - Hollow Talk, creepy but cute. And the music/set-up is virtually the same as The Chainsmokers - Closer. Really current but don't know how the music interludes would work on stage? One to look out for! It's all about Verona for me this year though ♥

'I am looking for Eurovision winner'. Good point but Eurovision universe include not only Eurovision but national final as autonomous universes as well. Therefore talking about each selection the local context needs to be highlight. Talking about Sanremo it is important that Eurovision comes secondary. In some countries it is very similar and Estonia is one of them (especially the concept of Eesti Laul). For me the trademark of Eesti Laul was this alternative and hipster feeling (despite winners). In contrast to Eesti Laul 2016 (!), this year is so mainstream, so radio-friendly that it is kind of bland. I miss in the line-up some more rockish and raw songs (like Janno Reim & Kosmos). My favourite from this semi is Carl-Philip though. -I feel that saying that Ivo Linna is a gimmick because of the age is a bit ageist. He is a legend in Estonia and he has his audience. Imagine Tom Jones of Estonia. He is in the line-up for different reason than going ESC. -When it goes to Juri Pootsmann and Play. I remember that William didn't like it. However, from the end of Eesti Laul's final until rehearsals in Stockholm, 'Play' was considered as a sure finalist and a song which will end up in TOP15. I don't think song itself was a reason to be the last-placer but a change of staging and that it was very clear how Juri was stressed. At least this is my opinon. BTW. brace yourselves before Rasmus Randvee's song from semi 2 :P (my fave in EE17). - I'd prefer Laura to enter with Ziggy Wild! Sorry for long comment again (hope you don't mind it) but your discussion are very interesting.

been listening to Ariadne - Deban you are right - this is special. I think if they revamped it to have some better peaks and troughs - this could do really well. The electronic beat after the second verse (at 1:35) is awesome. They should ramp up the violins before that beat comes in and have more of a crescendo towards the end. KEYCHANGE HONEEEEEEEEY!!!!!!

I only really like Lenna and Elina in that semi... the rest is meeeehhh. At all my Fave from both semis is Lenna, I really love that song and she can perform live. My second is Kerli and third is Laura, 4th Liis, 5th Elina.
