EE066 A New Extrusion Press Concept
Paolo Fraternale of Danieli's Breda Division in Italy will discuss a prototype of a 23MN extrusion press during his presentation at ET'12. The video showcases the press' ability, with the press process leading to a reduced dead cycle time. Fraternale will give his presentation on Wednesday, May 16 from 3:45-4:10 p.m.

Still billets lodging timing is same so way need this type of process
Need apress like this one
they probably use hollow shape dies for tubes, thats what i use, and at 1:53 is the thing for changing the tooling
Is there simple way to produce 2020 T Slot ?
How do you get to your tooling stack for setup changes. I also noticed a solid ram with no detachable stem can this press not run tubes.
How short can they get the dead cycle??

Where is the shear blade to knock the billet butt down?

I didn't see one either.
Super machinery
Is it possible to extrude extremely wide profiles? Like 4-6 meters wide?

4 to 6 meters? You would need a very very large press and billet oven. I couldn't imagine doing die changes.

Nothing is impossible given enough time and money.

The limit right now with the largest extrusion presses in the world could probably extrude a meter wide part. But 4 to 6 meters would by absolutely insane the billets would need to be about the same size a the profile. The technology currently does not exist. A press that size you would have to build the machine's to build the parts on the press to build the press to extrude the part. However you can link up smaller extrusion profiles to gather to make a large part it's done all the time in the industry.
