@@Mycopoks I understand that this is difficult for many people who live in other places. I can't help in this situation... But in general - everything depends on the degree of your desire. I know people who lived in a small town and founded their own historical club there because they really wanted to do historical reenactment. Of course, this is a path of hard work, trial and error, but it can give you the opportunity to do what you are interested in. Any big and wonderful thing starts with one or two active enthusiasts.

@Olga_Ovechkina Well yes, I've heard of historical reenactment. I had some older friends who liked Civil War reenactment, and I have been to some SCA events, but they're just that: events. All centered around the structure of the SCA, not just a kickass tea party organized by a person! I live in a city that's decently sized but quite remote, so any kind of reenactment get-togethers are at least 3 hours away. The culture of the area is agricultural + military. Closest thing we've got is the locally run Renaissance Festival, and all us supporters and staff know each other by name. So it's like that around here. I've never seen someone just throw a reenactment party for fun.

Haven't you ever heard of historical reenactment? :) Nowadays all over the world there are a huge number of reenactment clubs and historical dance schools. There are people who are passionate about history. Some study the life of nobles and wealthy citizens, etiquette, dances. They organize historical balls, picnics, walks, dinners. For this events, people sew costumes themselves or order from tailors and seamstresses who specialize in historical costumes. Others are engaged in military reenactment, sewing uniforms, studying weapons and other nuances of the wars of the past, and holding military history festivals and battle reenactments. Other people are interested in the life of peasants and poor townspeople, sew appropriate costumes, study crafts and also participate in various historical festivals. At the same time, the diversity of eras is also huge - there are clubs for antiquity, the Middle Ages, and the last few centuries.

@@Mycopoks Very often people live in the big european city with tens of reenactment clubs in it, but they don't know about it until someone tells them about it. In such cases my answer can help.

@@Mycopoks I understand that this is difficult for many people who live in other places. I can't help in this situation... But in general - everything depends on the degree of your desire. I know people who lived in a small town and founded their own historical club there because they really wanted to do historical reenactment. Of course, this is a path of hard work, trial and error, but it can give you the opportunity to do what you are interested in. Any big and wonderful thing starts with one or two active enthusiasts.

@Olga_Ovechkina Well yes, I've heard of historical reenactment. I had some older friends who liked Civil War reenactment, and I have been to some SCA events, but they're just that: events. All centered around the structure of the SCA, not just a kickass tea party organized by a person! I live in a city that's decently sized but quite remote, so any kind of reenactment get-togethers are at least 3 hours away. The culture of the area is agricultural + military. Closest thing we've got is the locally run Renaissance Festival, and all us supporters and staff know each other by name. So it's like that around here. I've never seen someone just throw a reenactment party for fun.

@@OuchingTigerLimpingDragon I understand that the situation varies in different countries and cities. In most of our more or less large cities there are dance studios that hold not only balls, but also picnics just for the pleasure of the participants.

How could people wash all the earth out of their skirts? No wonder people got sick left and right.
This is frustrating. I wanted to find out more about this party, but nothing comes up when I google Edwardian Garden Party: 1905. Nothing comes up on youtube either except this short. She doesn't give any info on the party maker other than her name. I was hoping someone else would have more footage on the party. No such luck.
