As a child, I have a distinct memory of my grandparents dancing in the kitchen while singing this song. It was a special moment for me because I rarely saw them let loose and have fun like that. The song was one that they both loved, and it always put them in a good mood. I remember feeling happy and carefree as I watched them dance and sing with each other. Even though I was too young to understand the lyrics, the melody was so catchy that I found myself humming it for days afterward. Sadly, both my grandparents have since passed away, my grandma died from cancer and my grandad played this song for her and sung along during her last hours i guess what they say is true people can die from a broken heart shortly after my grandfather passed we buried them togther and played this song for them once more so whenever I hear this song, it takes me back to that moment in the kitchen with them. It's a memory that I will always hold dear to my heart and makes me cry i hope i find someone to love like they loved🙏❣️

Once i had. I was in my late teens, and it was the happiest moments of my life. But i got forbade to date her. I do not told her, so she's gone to another state without knowing that i've always loved her. I've got a decade+ without a drink and my psyche has changed completely. I'm happy you have a woman you love. My wife passed away today - guess it was yesterday, still up so same day to me... this song meant a lot to us. Thirty + years... I loved her so. As I sit here feeling such grief that I can not begin to relate, it occurs to me how few these days simply don't know what it's like to lose someone they've been with for so long. Most simply don't stay together long enough to know the sort of grief that losing someone they've been with for the majority of their lives brings. Ecc 1:18 - For in much wisdom is much grief, and he who increases knowledge increases suffering. I'd say, even now, it's Wise to Love another; and Love is eternal. Yet in this world of illusion, doing so will surely bring grief, and understanding increases suffering. All the same, I wouldn't trade it for all the riches of the world even though... I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my father. When I saw him last (he was going away to visit friends in Jamaica] I knew that it was going to be the last time. I have always had a neat knowing of these things to be able to sense the truth about the world about someone’s life. I hugged him and I cried. I said I understand you have to go home. He died a week later after arriving in Jamaica. The night before my sister talked to him, and she asked him what was he doing and he said I’m just sitting underneath an Ackee tree listening to the birds singing and I feel so happy.

Man it’s been a hard 2 months, I lost who I thought was the love of my life. 7 years down the drain, we loved this song! Always sang it aloud like no one was watching and now I’m alone hearing this song remembering all of our memories. I miss her everyday but I guess god had a different plan for us both I will always love her

This track is on almost every compilation and playlist I've made since I first heard it. This is a piece of my heart.

As an exchange student, leaving your 2.0 home and going back home is a confusing experience and this song makes this feeling even harder. I love it, even though it hurts.

I found that person and married him. We have a one month old son now, and while having a child gives you a lot of limitations, I've never been freer in my whole life. I hope I die before my husband. Because you're right, it DOES make you vulnerable. And I don't know if I could lose my best friend.

I love this song, because every time they say "home is wherever I am with you" I think about myself and that home is wherever I am with me. Because I'm my home wherever I am. Listening to this with my 8 year old son, telling him about the meaning of “being home with a person”. This song brings me back to his older sister; we sang it at bedtime when she was his age. She would be 17; we lost her in a car accident 10/21/23 and this song makes me think of when I’ll feel “at home again” when I see her in the after life. The conversation at the end reminds me of conversations I have in my head with her. I miss her so much.

This is the first song my daughter danced to in my womb. I was dumped when I was pregnant and was depressed in bed. This song came on and my baby started moving around like crazy I felt so happy and felt like I'll get through this with you, it will always remind me of that moment. My daughter will be 10 this year, it is still one of her favorite songs.

I’m 16 years old. In less than a year I’ll be moving out of my house and starting university. For the last 4 years I’ve struggled with depression and severe anxiety. It’s rare if I ever leave the house twice in a week. Leaving the only place I know terrifies me so much. Whenever I feel alone, I’ll listen to this song. I’ve sang this song to so many friends whenever they’re sad or suicidal. This song means the world to me. It’s strange how much meaning a song can hold to so many different people.

I'm a white guy from the westcountry in England, been in and out of homelessness since I was 16 (sofa surfing not dossing) with my brother and my mum - who caused me to be taken hospital with all the pressure she put me under so I had what the doc described as a minor breakdown. my life is so unfulfilled it’s painful. basically went from 16 to 18 during this virus and my life hasn’t changed except for the fact i’m expected to be an adult yet literally was 16 what felt like yesterday

The reason so many people love this song is because, more than any other song I've ever heard, it induces the feeling of nostalgia which is universal but takes everyone to a different place. Nostalgia is such an awesome, powerful emotion and strange feeling.
