Dr. Wieland Brendel is as Principal Investigator and Group Leader of the Robust Machine Learning team at the ELLIS Institute Tübingen.
His work is focused on building machine vision systems that see and understand the world like humans.
After receiving his Diploma in physics, he obtained his Ph.D. in computational neuroscience. In 2023, he received the German Pattern Recognition Award for his substantial contributions on robust, generalisable, and interpretable machine vision.
