Rather than fight against the influence of parents and society, it would seem easier for teachers, professors and the like to persuade adult men and women to change their ways so that they may raise their children in a more healthy fashion. Starting in middle school isn't taking the big picture.

the fact that there are huge organizations churches, mosques, temples, that are dedicated to upholding patriarchy seems like a huge problem, but perhaps there is a way to "educate" (subvert) them. Women priests etc. may be the way forward.
