Christians bring up points against Islam that refute their own religion because of their own faith crisis. They are literally mentally not there and are projecting their personal issues with their religions on Muslims. for example a neanderthal christian might say “your book says so and so violent thing!” Clearly the bible has far more violent things. If his problem is violence in a book negating a religion and claims to be a Christian there’s already a tension there. Rather than address his faith crisis like a neanderthal he projects his issues onto Muslims.

Theological differences if any put aside Hijab have done exceptionally well in terms of defending Islam on an academic level. He has completed a PhD I believe from Oxford University, has had formal debates in institutions like Oxford University with well known personalities from the atheistic community, he’s had discussions and debates with people like Dr. Jordan Peterson, Dr Lars Gule and Ayaan Hirsi who are all recognized for different reasons in the west. So, let’s give credit where it’s due. Hijab is extremely well spoken, articulate and intelligent. His work on liberalism, feminism and atheism is great. On these fields no dawah person to my knowledge is more knowledgeable, effective or generally more impactful then Hijab. Also I won’t call what’s he’s saying in the video whataboutism - He’s simply making a valid argument. Historically speaking Christians and non-theists have killed more people then Muslims. He specified in the video that this wasn’t necessarily good but rather shows the actual reality. Saying most terrorists are Muslim when the term “terrorist” doesn’t have a precise definition with consensus is therefore wrong. How do we define a terrorist in the first place. This is the definition according to Cambridge dictionary: someone who uses violent action, or threats of violent action, for political purposes. If we use this definition is the west and USA then considered terrorists? They use brutal violence for political and economic interests? They have killed millions. So, Hijab is not using whataboutism, he’s simply calling for academic consistency from the guy he’s addressing. The guy he’s addressing is simply factually incorrect and has no evidential basis for his claims.

Patrick and his family left Iran during the revolution so he carries a lot of baggage against Islam and instead of being straight forward and bringing his problems with it to the table he takes cheap jabs like a coward.

They were then massacred (up to 50% of all Iranians) throughout the Turko-Mongol invasions. Sunni Islam has done far more harm to Iranians than Shia’ism has done in the last 40 odd years, despite the horrors of the current theocratic regime. Iranians are leaving Islam in droves, I would say NOT because of Shia’ism but because because it is in their cultural ethos to progress beyond the orthodoxy of any religion. These are in their ancient philosophical teachings

If a Muslim person or Muslim country mistreats you, the first conclusion shouldn’t be that Islam is bad. You should then reflect over the whys and be able to differentiate between the two. Extra information about Islam. 6 Pillars of Faith (We must believe otherwise we are not Muslim) -Belief in One God and One God ONLY. -Believe in all of Allah Angels, Example Jibreel which is Angel Gabriel (A.S). -Believe in all of God’s Prophets. -Believe in all of God’s holy scriptures. -Believe in the afterlife. -Belief in Divine Decree (Al-Qadar). @@ranj9750 If muhammad as the slave of alLah, how could muhammad then abrogate what alLah said? alLah even says that himself in many other verses, for example, you *must* let muhammad judge in any matter - not alLah. And other things too, for example, muhammad was controlled by satan and prostrated to the idols, al jalaylayn 22:52. Why was muhammad not punished by alLah for idolatry? It took years before alLah asked him to change those verses, why?

Thank you for responding to these statements. I have listened to PBD for years and gotten a lot of value from him. However, when I came across this podcast of him speaking so bluntly/ignorantly about this religion, his integrity definitely lowered in the eyes of many. Would like to see you on his podcast or him on you where you discuss this thoroughly.

You think these people are smart, then you realize most of these charismatic speakers aren't specialists in the field and operate on assumptions and vague notions rather than research. That's also what I understood of Jordan Peterson when he called Prophet Muhammad a 'warlord' many years back. It's based off of brief research and shallow presumptions under a most cynical lens. That's what Peterson is beyond clinical psychology. The rest of him is just a reflection of what his fans want to hear and what aligns with his egotistical vision of an idealized western civilization. He breaks his own teachings and resorted to name calling and demonization when it pertained to Canadian politics, for instance. People need to stay in their own depths, that's the lesson here.

Why do we respond to one-note, quick assertions by these people with such intricate and detailed refutations? They should be replied to in exactly the same way: one-note, quick refutations. They’re not willing to look at things in detail and so make cases based on nothing. Therefore, no amount of detail to our answers will satisfy their doubts. And when our short and quick responses won’t satisfy them then our response to their dissatisfaction should be “well we are also dissatisfied with your unsupported and nonsensical assertions.” End of discussion. If you want more then broaden your horizons to actually want to learn

It's moreso for anyone else that might be having the same thoughts or led astray by the people he's responding to. Be better than them. The responses explain the subject entirely, just responding one note and quick doesn't really help people understand as much as a detailed response would.

I've been following Patrick since 2017, and have benefited a lot in terms of getting entrepreneurial advice. He isn't very educated about Islam, but he is a good man, family oriented, has values and I respect him due to his expertise in other fields . May Allah Guide Him To Islam Requesting Brother HIjab to invite him for a podcast, I believe good things will come out of it
