Galeano spent a lifetime reflecting on the lives-political, cultural, and historical-of the people of the Americas.
In April 2009, Venezuela’s late president Hugo Chavez gave Barack Obama a copy of Galeano’s book Open Veins of Latin America. Galeano joined us to discuss his work, the political moment, and the past and future of US-Latin American relations.
