Would love more melody / groove videos like this, I can never get my it to sound as memorable or danceable compared to professional producers

@@Bthelick cheers man I checked it out a little while ago and have started to pay a lot more attention to each drum element and how it impacts the vibe of the track. Was more thinking about the melody side of things, involving the groovy and catchy basses / stabs / chords / etc. I’m still working my way through your channel though and have watched a lot of the chord stuff, but even with that knowledge I struggle with the melody side of things. Not sure what it is because I’ve been producing for 3/4 years now and still get basic melodies

@@Tyvm-mo3pj hey basic melodies are good! those are the catchy ones! so many over think it. I do have some older videos on melody which need a refresh so keep an eye out we'll be doing more for sure. but don't worry 4 years is nothing!

@@Bthelick yeah I agree especially when you have the rest of your life to go! Just glad I found out at an early age. Hmmm, yep definitely think basic melodies are the way to go, maybe I should of said I’m lacking that missing part that makes the melody ‘catchy’. Look forward to the newer videos but will keep going through older ones!

That syncopation definition :D Explain syncopation in 3 sentences ChatGPT Syncopation is a rhythmic technique that disrupts the regularity of a musical pattern by emphasizing weak beats or off-beats. It adds complexity, tension, and groove to the rhythm, creating a sense of unpredictability. Found in various genres like jazz, funk, and Latin music, syncopation plays a crucial role in making the rhythm engaging and dynamic. Explain syncopation in 1 sentence ChatGPT Syncopation is the rhythmic technique of emphasizing weak beats or off-beats, adding complexity and groove to the music.

Lat8n and afro rhythms are full of syncope... ...like samba, for example. I really like bass lines with them. And they avoid down beats bass notes. What's a good arranging start, too. 😅
