Edinburgh's Water of Leith flooding, 7.July.2012

Ойын-сауық

This is some B-Roll footage I took while checking out the flooding.
I was asked by a news agency to capture some photos and video for them.
I decided to put together some of the footage they didn't use or need due to various reasons. Some of it isn't the best but you get a decent idea of what was happening in Edinburgh and Leith that day.

I know it's over two years ago but why did your film not show the silted up river from Bonnington Toll right down to the Shore due to the Dock gate being closed for the last couple of decades. If this part of the river was cleared out it would have saved hundreds of thousands of pounds on the work further up the river. As usual the Edinburgh council would rather spend anywhere else than in Leith. The Water of Leith was a tidal river and as such was treated so, there are photographs of large ships tied up at the Shore side of Great Junction Street Bridge whereas now you'd be lucky if any of those barges would be able to move. If you're going to tell a story try telling the whole story.

As per the description this was near-unedited B-roll footage from the shoot I was asked to do which was the area around . Dean Bridge and Stockbridge. It was not really possible to travel the full length of the Water in the time allocated for the shoot/edit/upload. Also these sections of video are extras that were not wanted/used by the agency and could be used by myself.
