You definitely don’t have to hold it above your shoulders. Literally just turn it 90 degrees. And if you’re hitting the concrete then you’re not doing it correctly. If you hear slapping then you know. After 5 years that’s definitely something you should be good at.

Edgers are great for single-residential application, but anybody who has spent any amount of time doing commercial lawn care will just use a line trimmer. It's easier, and the margin for error is greater. The Worx trimmer has a wheel guide for the inexperienced. Also, why is he holding his trimmer like that? Weird.

One, a local family owned business that was $60 a man hour, and another local business that works all over the state, started as a nursery in the late 1800s, charged $125 a man hour. Both used string trimmers for edge work. So idk about that one hoss

My dad has owned a landscaping company for 30 years and I work for him now. Been using regular weed eaters to edge forever. Weed eaters are made to be upside down for that purpose. Only homeowners who don’t know anything use edgers lol.

In the UK call a string trimmer a strimmer.

Been mowing and landscaping for almost twenty years and can edge perfectly fine with a string trimmer and not waste a bunch of line it’s just your opinion and that’s FACTS

So you can either take out a chunk of your concrete or just replace the spool of line on your strimmer occasionally.

Buy the right line and edge properly and then pull yo through very little line. It beats carrying two tools with you and way better than having to replace edger blades.

My grandparents taught me how to edge. They let me edge all over the lawn. They taught me different grips and everything. Sometimes when my hands get sweaty I use tissues too.

My dad used to make me edge the lawn with a walk behind gas powered edger with a huge blade when I was like 7 or 8. I prefer a string trimmer now.

We know buddy. Most of us just don’t want an extra tool that only serves one small purpose. String trimmer will get you 80% there

An edger is used for overgrown thick grass and to make NEW edges, and string trimmer is perfectly fine and more efficent to maintaince said edge!

Edging changed my life for good. Before I found edging, I was a no life loser. But after I started edging, I got a solid career, doing good in studies, my parents are proud of me, etc. I love edging in my school. It calms me😊

I have kept my edging streak for so long, but after watching this video I had to let it all out

My Craftsman string trimmer has a built-in pivot for edging. You just pull on the end to unlock and then rotate it 180 degrees to put it into edging mode.

Metal blades chip and damage the sidewalks, brick pathways, and driveways. As a professional landscaper that’s been mowing million dollar homes for 10 years ; I think these things are terrible and a waste of space. If you just know how to do it right with a regular string trimmer it’s actually safer for the property and has a cleaner look. People take out poorly placed sprinkler heads with these things all the time where regular plastic line won’t.

Strimmers do the job for me haha - anyway mine has a handle which is designed so you can spin it for things like this, as well as a reversible direction so you can work in either direction perfectly
