Edelbrock carburetor operation theory for dummies

This is a Edelbrock 1409 marine carb, but I believe the concept is pretty close to all the edelbrock performer series carbs.
I still running my carb stock on a salt water fishing boat and it works well. Fine tuning isn't crucial for my application. I more struggle with binding of linkages from corrosion and idle circuit problems from stale fuel turning into little rocks that clog my idle jets and accelerator pump nozzles. I'm very happy with this carb though, and have had it running for about 10 years with minimal maintenance.
I made this video to outline the operation of this carburetor design. This is all described in the owners manual, but I have a hard time pairing the diagrams with the real thing until I disassemble it.

My boat used to gum up the carb like that, I bet you have an old aluminum fuel tank had some strange corrosion going on with it. Installed a new composite (fiberglass and resin) and no more issues--take care

Dude lay off the weed 😂You def know the carb through and through but it doesn't help students if the teacher doesn't know the name of a part much less the students. I give you a B-. Overall your knowledge of the subject matter is still very helpful.

Thanks for watching. No weed involved 🤣, I had just studied the manual enough to get the operation straight in my mind and did an uncut recap of that. I tried to put the correct terms on the ovetlay. It was more about getting a visual of the operation for my reference and future troubleshooting. The manual says the same thing with all the terminology and pictures but it's harder for me to make sense of.
