I have launched from that beach in West Seattle and paddled close to shore over to Alki Beach and back; in a Sea Eagle 370. My wife and I. Puget Sound where you are is salt water. Lots of fresh water (Lake WA, Lake Union, the stretch from Chittenden Locks to Lake WA), too, in Seattle. Rivers (Sammamish, Duwamish, Cedar) flowing into Lake WA and Puget Sound. For paddlers, Seattle is awesome! Now we have a Sea Eagle 420x Explorer and have been out and about as often as possible. Would love to have an Eddyline Sitka kayak. Can you send me one?

Just had my LT out on Lake Erie today. It's always a joy to paddle!

How are these as a sea kayak? Was looking at the P&H Virgo HV but it doesn't have enough Max capacity at the Sitka XT.

There are a bunch of salt water your operations using Eddylines in the NW including Sitkas. All just depends on your duration, capacity and gear hauling needs but the Sitkas are perfect for the power weekend trip and more volume than the model you mentioned. Rick gardening equals poly imo. Helmet paddling, use poly. Eddylines will take lots of abuse but weren’t designed for white stuff wether in sea or river.

I'm a new paddler, I am between the Sitka ST and the LT. I am 5'7 170lbs, any advice? I haven't paddled before so the whole wobbly tippy thing does scare me a bit but maybe it's not that bad? I'm planning on using it in low wake/no wake inlets. nice video!

I mostly spend time in the Sitka LT at 5’11” and 165-170 lbs. I think that is the route you should probably go as well. You can pad out the hips a bit by shimming foam under the current pads if needed and also consider adding additional seat padding(gel seat) to raise yourself as you become more comfortable with the movement. You’ll have way better gear hauling, initial stability and more speed with the LT. Let me know how it works out! Happy Paddlin’

@HappyPaddlin awesome advice, thanks man ❤️ I found a shop nearby that is an authorized dealer so going to go see if I can sit in one and see how it feels. Maybe they do like a try before you buy thing. Also, if you do rollover on the LT with a spray skirt on, does that mean you're stuck upside down or is there a way to slide out or wiggle the boat back upside?

Practice wet exits and re-entries. (take a course if you can). Lean forward, pull skirt tab and you will pretty much fall out.
