Tekken 7 (Japanese: 鉄拳7) is a fighting game developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It is the seventh main and ninth overall installment in the Tekken series, and is the first in that series to be released for PC. Tekken 7 was released to arcades in March 2015. An updated arcade version, Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, was released in July 2016, and features expanded content including new stages, costumes, items and characters. The home versions released for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One in June 2017 were based on Fated Retribution.
Set shortly after the events of Tekken 6, the plot focuses on the events leading up to the final battle between martial artist Heihachi Mishima and his son, Kazuya. Tekken 7 introduces several new elements to the fighting system, such as Rage Arts and the Power Crush mechanic, making the game more beginner friendly than previous iterations in the series. Tekken 7 was a critical and commercial success, selling over 10 million copies as of December 2022. A sequel, Tekken 8, was released on January 26, 2024.
Tekken 8 (鉄拳8) is a fighting game co-developed by Bandai Namco Studios and Arika and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The eighth main and tenth overall installment in the Tekken series, the game is set to be released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X and Series S.
According to director Katsuhiro Harada, Tekken 8 gameplay will focus on "aggressiveness" and will have a new "Heat" gauge system, in addition to returning gameplay features from Tekken 7, such as Rage system-based attacks, with the Rage Drive having been separated and reworked as a Heat system-based move known as Heat Smash, leaving the Rage State that can only have an access to use Rage Art once more like prior to the Fated Retribution version of Tekken 7. The gameplay will reward aggressiveness rather than those who "turtle up". Similar to Soul Charge state from Soulcalibur VI, the Heat State grants not only chip damage and additional move sets, but also changes the properties of some characters’ move sets, such as a heavy guard break. Fighters can also dash cancel their designate moves into the Heat State, similar to MAX Mode from The King of Fighters series. The Heat State’s timer can be stopped if fighters’ move sets are being used.
There will also be a focus on stage destruction, character reactions to these, and making the gameplay enjoyable to watch as well as play, since Tekken is now considered a high-level e-sports game. This new system was based on reception to the predecessor. Tekken 7’s “Screw” damage property was originally going to return in this game, but it is ultimately replaced with a newer juggle combo extender system that puts opponent into a ground-bound-like state upon falling backflip to the ground quickly - similar to Tekken 6 - whether the combo extender be a launcher or a knockback. When guarding against a normal state’s heavy attack, or Heat State characters, fighters will receive a chip damage that causes their health bar to become regenerable. However, unlike the Tag mode-only health bar regeneration system from Tekken Tag Tournament games, fighters’ recoverable health can only be recovered by attacking the opponent.

His costume looks better in T7 than it does in T8. Mostly cause his facial structure has even changed. Brotha still fly tho

Tekken 8 already has more characters than both MK1 and SF6. They'd have to add every character ever added to a Tekken game and add them all to 8 in order for people to stop saying "X should have been in Tekken 8!" And even then people would still complain. Can never win with you people 🙃

@@jonahbrown5669I’m not the “people” that complain about characters not making it to Tekken 8 because honestly I don’t care much. I mainly play base roster characters but it’s true. Of course they want your money so that’s why they’re making Eddy DLC.

They decided to use motion capture, so it's more realistic, so I guess they don't link because it was too hard for the motion capture person, and theres less moves because it probably took too long. It's a pity they went that route without thinking it through

@@aprimic You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. - They used motion capture as far back as tekken 3 like the other guy said, so it shouldn't change anything for them using this technology now, it's just logical they would use it again to record new moves, and they would have better experience with it now than ever on top of that. - Motion capture on its own doesn't make great animation by itself, someone has to adjust what's been recorded so it's nice and smooth going. - Most of the moves used on Tekken 8 are re-used from previous Tekken and have been slightly modified to look better overall, despite what has been originally said of "remaking it from the ground up" So no, none of these arguments are valid, the fact that his movelist has been cut in half and do not link is a choice, not something they did out of necessity.

@aprimic I feel like it was an intentional change. Instead of continuing to nerf his damage and combos, they took away the thing that made him hard to play against. Instead of his moves flowing into each other, they gave him mashable strings. So it looks like his moves flow but takes away the skill ceiling and makes him easier to play AGAINST. This is an overall nerf to his playstyle, but it does make him more powerful because now he has damage.

The old ginga step is SO much better than the new one. It has a flow and a rhythm to it in 7, and in 8 it feels too fast and too sudden

His old stance is the weird one. It feels like his hovering and doesn't have weight. That's why they changed it in T8 for a more realistic approach. Don't believe me? Try doing T7 stance in real life then 😂

@@notjack_official1153 he has more moves and his inputs for rage were 3 and 4 which made sense since he used legs for the most part, I don't like how they dumbed his moveset down tho, I wish they could've kept atleast 4, 3+4, 4, 4 cause now idk what to do after 4, 3+4. But now I just gotta adapt and find new routes and moves to use

That's what attracted me to him, you HARDLY see a dude dancing and capping your ass at the same time in fighting games, im more surprised other games haven't done it aside from street fighter

I think it's good they brought him back and gave him some character development through the intro and outro interactions. It makes up for the disastrous way they portrayed him in T7... If you ask me, Eddy's T7 ending was nothing but a fever dream and 100% non-canon...

@@marceloguia6107 I mean his Tekken 7 Ending has been changed almost entirely. In Tekken 8 it is revealed that Eddy actually made it to Kazuya and does attempt to fight him but loses. Before Eddy succumbs to his wounds Yoshimitsu swoops in and saves him. Then Eddy decides to train and reaches new levels of strength. After doing this he decides to use his newfound strength for good instead of revenge. So it can be implied that Eddy easily beats Chloe and finds Kazuya after. Or he just never encounters Chloe to begin with.

Dude, do you know brazilians can look like anything, right? Brazil is at the same time the country with most africans out of Africa, with most arabs besides Middle-East, with most italians and germans out of Italy and Germany and with most japanese out of Japan. Eddy is afro-brazilian like millions of other brazilians.
