Divorce. Cancer. Band issues. Pressure. Music industry changing. Health issues with his bad hips. And who knows what else. I always stood by EVH. He was just a human like the rest of us and is allowed to go through whatever demons were facing him. Unfortunately with his level of fame it became everyone’s business and that is exactly why they stay (or stayed) so quiet. Long live the spirit of EVH and his gift that he shared with us all.

Eddie... The more I see of him since he passed, the more I realise how amazing a person he was for keeping it together whilst he was suffering. I feel, at least for me and (and maybe millions of other people out there feel the same as I don't think I'm unique in this).., like I knew him. His personality, for example in this interview, is so genuine and approachable. There just didn't seem to be any pretense about him.

He was his own package, did not try to look or be like anyone but himself. I think, it's what makes him famous and so unique. His life story is. great one...that all if not many will relate to. A familia's that started off as a poor immigrant in the US, and his parents used their God-given talent and raised them the same to make a living of it. It's hard for musicians to survive, given the unpredictability of getting gigs, and slowly get recognition, and staying musically and creatively popular, which he and the band worked so hard for, until he and band became Rock Stars. His life was his music, but it is a real struggle to keep staying up there forever...sadly, he still struggled till the end. Thank you for our impish smile and the happiness to this world EVH! Ed was my hero as a kid. Van Halen brought me to music. He is clearly a tortured genius. People forget he single handedly changed guitar playing.

My brother, who has cancer, says it's difficult to go out places because of people asking such questions about your cancer. It's not an easy subject to discuss your personal health with a total stranger in a public setting. Couldn't you think of other questions or have fun with him instead of brining up a BAD subject? He said it's personal.

Was he trying to hide it? It's "personal" he says he wasn't hiding it. So very very true. It is only the business of his family and friends not the god damned media. Right after she asked that question he seemed very irritated with her and rightfully so. R. I. P Eddie.
