He's got that Minnesota way of talking still. Got to meet him during the Rust In Peace 20th Anniversary tour. He was the coolest I've ever met. Mustaine was way cool too. Funny that the drummer Drover and Broadrick were kind of not into meeting the fans like the Dave's were. I think it was because everyone let asking about Friedman and Menza.

🤔 If this had happened 20-25 years earlier, when Megadeth still had a lot of years of touring and recording ahead of them, Dave Mustaine would've surely fired him, BUT he probably would've given things a few years to cool off, then re-hired him. But Mustaine and Megadeth are closing in on the end, so I don't think there's enough time left for this story to blow over, and for Dave to rehire him. Either way, I'm actually shocked that Ellefson took part in whatever this was with that girl. It seems incredibly weird and stupid. He had seemed like a more level headed person....

I often find myself wondering, “who’s their guitarist this week or, who’s their drummer on this album, and I feel like it’s has hurt megadeth in terms of music, fanbase, etc… Ellefson founded the band and was let go before he even had a chance to defend himself. The question is, was a crime committed? That’s what it comes down to for me. I don’t know every detail of the incident

@@Sideler74 with the way streaming is idk how much he really makes. They used to make alot off records but it's not like that anymore. Touring and merch is where you make the money now. Not that hes broke but he's probably not making much now

David Ellefson still is a great influence to look upon, the amazing records, the Legendary bass lines, his coffee brand, solo tours and clínics, the list goes on..Best of luck in everything he does.

Dave Ellefson deserves gratitude and graciousness. I'm grateful for his maturity. I can only wish him the best of luck in the thanks of a fan I love you brother

They canceled their show in New Orleans, LA as well. Not sure why but I'm with you on not wanting to see Megadeth without Mr. Ellefson on bass. It's like Judas Priest without KK or Tipton. Could you imagine Iron Maiden without Harris or Murry. In the end, it's a decision we have no control over but have to learn to accept.

I have to say, I’m pretty disappointed in a considerable part of the metal community. Dave mustaine is not the bad guy here for protecting his brand. Ellefson did meet the girl when she was 17,but according to him didn't make any videos with her till she was 19. So he wants a pat on the back for grooming her to acceptable legal age,so therefore it's ok in his mind.The man still doesn't get it and that's probably why he alluded to his family not being 100% supportive. Dave how can we miss you if you won't go away?

LOL! Generally agree here. Ellefson fucked up. I don't think it's his MO or how he lives his life but what he did was gross at best; I seriously doubt he wants his kids having interactions with anyone 3X their age. That being said, I hope realizes that the "jail bait" he was sexting/do vids with was getting exploited no matter what. I've never met a woman who dated an adult as a teenager who later thought it was a good choice.

Every thing I have read online has been in support of Dave Ellefson. I think metal fans get it. The allegations were untrue. I think Mustaine jumped way too quick and made a very unnecessary move. Unfortunate... I hope he gets back in! I wanna see him back on stage with Megadeth.

I love Megadeth, seen them 14 times, and even met David years ago. I've been with them since day one, and since day one, Dave Mustaine has been a prick. However, he sprung into the douchebag stratosphere with the whole David Ellefson situation. David sacrificed a lot, having to deal with Mustaine and all his bullshit over the decades, and Mustaine fires the one dude that stood behind him all those years!?! And over a f**king sex scandal! That was once a requirement in rock n roll. As much as I love Megadeth, I will never give Mustaine another dollar without Ellefson in the band and a huge public apology.

It wasnt Mustaine that Ellefson was sueing, it was the record company and a contract that they wanted to take all his life's work and reissue it without paying him a cent.. Mustaine has publicly stated that 'Dave did what he has to do, and didn't bear him any ill will for it' meanwhile all these videos that Dave M is putting out with Kiko trying to pretend they've been buddy-buddies for years make me sick because there's bugger all left in the band to talk about (I think Kiko is a nice guy for the record)

As far as rockers go Dave Ellefson is one of the most clean living guys out there. The dude goes to church every sunday, and owns a christian rock label that just signed the band "The Letter Black". A great band which has the ability to one day be huge, possibly even a mainstream crossover band. Everyone in this type of Rock Star fame situation is vulnerable to this type of stuff. At worst, he just used bad judgement. Women are out there always looking to trap and extort guys like this. This is the truth, no one is perfect. If he is not back in Megadeth after all of this blows over I will be surprised. I would be willing to bet that all of the other members of MD, with maybe the possible exception of Kiko have done far worse over the years including MegaDave, someone who I have alot of respect and admiration for. Best of luck to you David! Go home to your family and apologize to your wife, and be thankful for all of the great stuff you have going on right now in your life.
