New Eddie's Guitars Artist Session with Hiroya Tsukamoto at Eddie's Guitars in St. Louis, MO. We were very exited to have Hiroya in the shop as he passed through St. Louis for a gig. Sit back and take a listen to his unique songwriting and excellent fingerstyle technique. The guitar featured in these two songs is a beautiful Bourgeois OMSC Odyssey model with Redwood & Brazilian Rosewood.

Hiroya Tsukamoto is a one-of-a-kind composer, guitarist and singer-songwriter from Kyoto, Japan. He began playing the five-string banjo when he was thirteen, and took up the guitar shortly after.
In 2000, Hiroya received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music and came to the United States. He formed his own group in Boston “INTEROCEANICO (inter-oceanic)” which consists of unique musicians from different continents including Latin Grammy Colombian singer Marta Gomez. The group released three acclaimed records (“The Other Side of the World”, “Confluencia” and “Where the River Shines”). Hiroya has released three solo albums (“Solo”, “Heartland” and “Places”).
Hiroya has been leading concerts internationally including several appearances at Blue Note(NYC), United Nations and Japanese National Television(NHK). In 2018, Hiroya won 2nd place in International Finger Style Guitar Championship.

Never has a single performance made me swoon over the tone of a guitar. Hiroya's composition work and playing are breathtaking. You have a new fan.
You know what I love most about building Bourgeois guitars. Dana's abilities to make all his guitars have a perfect mix of classic tone and a modern tone. X braced backs are super rich in tone variations

Beautiful guitar great playing and great tone! I'm a flamenco guitarist and the body size caught my eye - similar to a flamenco body depth. Hello to Hiroya as well! We both were part of the Intertnational Guitar Series in Orlando last year 👍

Stunning. I always love to find great guitarists with whom I'm unfamiliar. Melodic and harmonically rich. Just great. And thanks for including the tunings on the titles. I have to ask, Matt - did you have a little gasp when he started the percussive stuff toward the end of the first tune? The guitar is beautiful, I like the inclusion of the bevel and the port.
