Eddie Glaude On The State Of Black America | Zerlina.

Black History Month is happening as states nationwide are moving to make it harder to teach kids about Black history. Eddie Glaude argues that contradiction is why Black History Month matters now more than ever.

I am in the most general terms a white guy who grew up in the suburbs who took time to observe, study and move beyond the often stifling and superficial and limiting trappings of my environment and upbringing, coming to the conclusion early on that it is not only morally imperative but absolutely essential to all our democratic and literal survival to teach kids, everyone, the dark side of American history and society, not just the watered down Disney version that is so often presented. The parallels now between the tactics of the far right and ealy Nazi-ism is chilling. Dr. Glaude is completely justified in speaking in terms of betrayal in what is now being perpetrated by Republicans and even by the average moderate and liberal citizens fickled indifference and obliviousness to the dark clouds gathering on the horizon that threaten us all, not just our pet issues and political preferences.. Betrayal is not too strong a word and we are being and are about to be betrayed on many levels if we don't wake folks up black white brown and Asian to get out and vote en masse in the next two elections to prevent history from repeating and to keep alive the promise and flickers of progress and hope we have been seeing at the same time. Thanks for this focus. I know I will be as active as possible, I hope and feel many others will be too but enough? It's nothing to take for granted. Whether it's the democratic or republican party, black people in America NEVER have our needs met despite promises during election time. We're the most powerful voting contingent and until we are satisfied, we need to fall back from white America's answer to our plight and expose it as the mediocre group of people they've always been. Twenty generations of slavery, lynching, sharecropping, old Jim Crow, new Jim Crow, civil rights denial, discrimination, bigotry, and prejudice. But somehow in 2022 blacks are responsible for YOUR plight in life, even though you are economically much more advantaged economically than blacks, by design. According to Forbes, in 2016 the median net worth of white America was $171,000 vs $17,150 for blacks. In 2017, according to the Boston Globe, backed by research from The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Duke University, and the New School, the median net worth of African Americans in Boston was $8. The median net worth of whites in Boston was $247,500. Let that sink in for a moment. This gap has been growing and will continue to widen. It has been over 400 years! You have generational wealth built from you separating our ancestors, raping black women, breaking black backs, scorching black arms, cramping black fingers, historically torturing blacks. You politically gerrymander and water down black votes. You voter purge, enact voter suppression, and practice zip code discrimination. Regarding economic development, you have suppressed job opportunities and home appraisals in black neighborhoods; the latter amounting to $156 billion in lost equity and denying generational wealth transfer. You also promulgate police brutality even when videotaped. You continue promoting cultural wars by deliberately promoting fear mongering regarding great replacement theory and deceit regarding critical race theory. You discriminate against black farmers, who are unable to get loans nor qualify for financial assistance, therefore leading to the loss of millions of acres of land and nearly the demise of the black farmer. According to the USDA, of all private U.S. agricultural land, whites comprise 96 percent of the owners, 97 percent of the value, and 98 percent of the acres. By your political and economic design, blacks have inferior neighborhoods, inferior schools, lack of access to healthcare, higher unemployment, low wage jobs, endure social injustice and mass incarceration. Please do not forget to include redlining and redistricting, with coexistent white flight and gentrification. You were born on third base. Your skin color gives YOU the benefit of the doubt. First in line. First opportunity. First hired. Last fired. Also, race norming and the horrific impact of implicit bias. Institutionalized racism is inculcated into the fabric of our lives. But somehow and for some reason, you STILL want to malign and persecute blacks. Why? You cannot blame it on your forefathers because these inhumane tactics are still going on today. Tell me WHY your atrocities? WHY your hatred? Why are you against black people? WHY? Please spare blacks your sadness, sorrow, and sympathy. No need for apologies. Just an explanation. 1. Many people past and present generations in America share this view. They may not share it publicly. The genocide committed by white Americans against the original people remains conspicuously absence in American history books. I will exclude talking about the massive land stolen from the Indian people. If something is stolen or acquired via illicit means, you don't debate it, especially, if the nation espouses, the value of the rule of law and equal protection under the law. The American genocide against its original people does not different from Cambodia and Rwanda genocides. Land has been returned to a great deal of the above people. Simply put the majority of of white Americans do have the capacity to take an honest accounting of its astonishing dark history! They prefer to lecture other nations on the virtues of democracy.

ThaGemini Goddess! From: National Black Justice Party (NBJP, Black America's political party) Black America! The California Reparation Task Force is a fraction of the nation as an individualistic approach, a symbolic and selfish act to get reparations for California to isolate Black America from being one entity from receiving reparations. If the task force reparation proposals were really thorough, genuine, and thoroughly strategized for the betterment of Black America then you would have submitted reparation proposals to the governors of all 52 states. The "snowball avalanche" effect is a perfect political strategy for this reparation scenario rather than a "let's hope a spark will light a fire" political strategy approach in only one selected region of the nation. The NBJP strongly recommends the California Reparation Task Force submit the task force reparation proposals to all 52 governors nationwide for serious national consideration for all 52 state localities. Black California politicians and reparation grassroots staff do you really understand how effective politics work? CALIFORNIA REPARATIONS TASK FORCE just stay focused on the historical timeline of Slavery, Freedman's Bank, Reconstruction of slave lands stolen, Black Wall Street, The military GI bill during and after World War 2 of 1 million-plus Black American GIs who were denied and cheated of those military benefits, and the economical downfall of Jim Crow involving Black Americans. These are the talking points in your political white paper proposals are the only reparation concerns you need to seriously discuss about nothing else. The NBJP highly recommends the national reparation approach rather than a one-state reparation approach. The NBJP political party mandate is united we stand and divided we fall. So it is politically written so it shall be politically done.

They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. LETTER TO WHITE AMERICA Of particular interest to: Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingram, Mitch McConnell, Tim Ryan, Willian Barr, Clarence Thomas, John Roberts, Kevin McCarthy, Josh Hawley, Ron DeSantis, Ted Cruz, Brian Kemp, Greg Abbott, Doug Ducey, Harris Faulkner, Jim Jordan, Joe Manchin, Tim Scott, Candace Owens, Christopher Rufo, Ron Johnson, Condoleezza Rice, Russ Vought, Carmel, Indiana H.S. parents, Yulee High School administrators, Dan Patrick, Chuck Grassley, Glenn Youngkin, Jim Murphy, Jim Banks, Davis School District, Framington, Utah, Charlie Kirk, Mike Braun, Jim Banks, Amy Coney Barrett, Ben Shapiro, Andy Biggs, Sage Steele, Mom’s for Liberty, Sullivan School Board, TN Four hundred years with your foot on the necks of black people. 1. Bc they pillaged all the wealth from the great civilization and have it hiden today that fuel capitalism and American wealth which they have hidden and is associated with their portfolios. As in assests. The Vitiican have the some of the wealth. Even the Jews was able to have some of her wealth returned. Reparations. But the world systems can't afford to have the decedents od the enslaved to request the wealth to be returned immediately. Bc their wealth and societies depend on those stolen goods. We have to get out of the metrics.

Just that fact alone should tell you what a privileged sheltered existence I have lived thus far in my lifetime. I have always considered myself progressive. My mother was executive director of the state democratic committee so we were more political than most and pretty progressive. My children are biracial; this issue is extremely important to me. 2020 was a profound year for us all and I am shocked every day when I happen upon my own biases inside my head and I think, well” why did I picture a white man when I made an appointment with “Dr Blake” as opposed to a black woman? That’s a bias and positive representation does matter!! I am learning thanks for helping me along this journey.

Black California politicians and reparation grassroots staff do you really understand how effective politics work? Black is a color it is not a nationality. The late 70's Jesse Jackson said that we African people living in America we should call ourselves African Americans and Bill Cosby said that is true now we are living in reality people. We did just that in the 80s and 90s . Bill Cosby give us the TV Show Cosbys doctor and lawyer head of the household he gave us another TV show a different world African-American college students all through the show we were addressed as African American. That led for better TV shows like living singles African American professionals Publishers lawyer living together. We get a African-American president in Obama. Bill Cosby was right we begin to live in reality. What happened after we get African American president. We get a TV show called Blackish then here come the Black Panther movie here come blacklivesmatter we began to protest again like we did in the 60 people once again we've been pushed back to black. How did this happen that is very controlled. Remind yourself when Bill Cosby said the first time he ever voted in his life when he voted for Barack Obama. Here comes some cramped up charges on Bill Cosby. Well I guess it doesn't matter now they got us Colin I sales black again. Don't even realize what happened. Realize this black is a color it is not il nationality we have seen we do better for ourselves when we live within il nationality.
