Great tools. Love the Wera driver. The Wera 056490 is a nice combo set for tool bags. Just subscribed. 😁

Hey! That two-stage click of the green ring really was helpful! I must have inadvertently depressed the green ring while I was fiddling with getting a bit out of the handle and the extension sprung out, totally surprising me. I didn't know it did that, and I didn't know what I did to actuate it. Further fiddling resulted in getting the extension completely out (again, without understanding what I might done to cause it.) After that, not only could I not figure out how to get the extension recessed back into the handle, I couldn't even get it seated as far as the "ok" line. I realized the green ring pushed in, but that wasn't helping. As soon as you mentioned that it was two-stage and I heard that click when you snapped it into the second stage my problem was clear and that took care of everything. Thanks!

Very good screwdriver, I have more wera tools. Wera also make something similar with your kobalt, the wera turbo handle, similar with the kraftform kompakt but without the bit storage in the handle, but the push button is there. Recently I bought the wera kraftform kompakt 10 set for edc,and small jobs. Wera is a German brand, my older wera kraftkant vde screwdriver set is made in Germany. But now most of the tools are made in the Czech Republic, but is nothing wrong with that, the quality is very good.

Bought one of these on a Black Friday sale, and I’ve started carrying it as well. I’ve found the bit retention to be somewhat lacking, but it’s easily manageable. Also, while it’s cool to fidget with, it’s maybe a few degrees too complicated of a contraption. The new Milwaukee stubby multibits are a little more my style. Ultimately, though, this thing is just cool and it handles well, so it’s made it into the rotation of my EDC stuff.

I got some smaller Wera drivers mostly for knifes and vapes, they work really well, also a very old Kraftform bit holder screwdriver from my grandfather that feels like it would survive many more generations. When it comes to tools you almost cant go wrong with made in germany.

Despite all the extension and storage features I’m shocked how solid the driver feels. It’s a nice offering from Wera and they’re on my “nice” list now 🎅

My Lo alt driver has bits on the handle when you unscrew the bottom of the cap. Guess they changed it.

If this had the ratchet feature, it would be the best screwdriver in the world.

That would be awesome. I have looked at the Wera Zyklop Pocket 8009 for that reason but I can’t justify the price for the function since I already have this!

If a tool is German, it is great 🤭 Btw since these are German names, it is "Viha" and "Vera".

I think you'll find that RapiDator (I think that's what they called the bit holder at the end) is AWESOME. You can operate it one handed which is a bonus. It's holds bits and screws stay on. Life's too short to constantly have to pickup the bits - never mind the screws! Both Wiha and Wera are awesome. But I tend to have more Wera. But that Kobalt is interesting. So they decoupled the rotation with the actual driving. So it's twice as fast. Hmm..haven't seen that before. It's nice actually.

I like it so far! Yeah the Kobalt is cool for self-assemble furniture building. You can move very quickly but without the risk of over tightening that comes with a drill driver

Nice video, but I would actually like to comment on being a Leatherman Surge owner. I have to say that this is an outstanding tool, as you are fully aware! I have been carrying it via the pocket clip. Yes, it does have a slight side to side wiggle, but it deep carries the Surge extremely well. I did a "prepper" move, and purchased some 4.5" Lennox wood saw blades, and they fit the blade exchanger very well. I haven't bought the bit set yet, but I don't have much use for screwdrivers beyond a Phillips or Flathead. This Wera screwdriver might be a good screwdriver to keep in my kitchen junk drawer, for the wife, who hates going to my tool box in the garage, and no she won't carry a multi-tool. Thanks for sharing.

I really wish Leatherman would recognize that the blade exchanger is one of the best tools they’ve ever put in a Multitool design. It helps make the Surge the best, as you have seen. This Wera would definitely be perfect for the kitchen junk drawer. It has any bit you’d need around a house!

@@falkenvir the housing for the extending bit holder is what broke. Loved the screwdriver but I don't think it's meant for heavy duty/professional use. Great for work around the house but it's too expensive for that. I have the megapro mechanics screwdriver and it's tough as nails but super heavy and the shaft is super long. I won't talk you out of the wera but for the price I'd hate to see someone spend that kinda money on a plastic tool.

meh, that "knob" at the end of the exnteted shaft is counterproductive. The bits are too short as well.
