Unfortunately I think Charlemagne has a natural dislike for white people in the hip hop game. I think maybe he feels like they're stealing black culture. I feel like cultures and ideologies should be shared especially when they're out of respect but he comes off as overly defensive and as a douche bag sometimes
I love how 99% of the comments are about how awesome Ed Sheeran is. This just shows he has everyone’s respect.

Probably my favorite interview and I'm glad that a hiphop radio station can embrace and welcome artist of Ed's genre. It goes to show you that TALENT, HUMILITY, and RESPECT goes a long way despite differences in culture and or race. Dude is real when it comes to what he talks about. Doesn't come off as if he's bullshitting you, he just tells the truth. He's not shy about his opinion and he stays humble. That being said.. saved him a seat for Thanksgiving right next to grandma.

@styalz

Do you know what the word genre means? Have you heard an original hip hop song by Ed Sheeran? He's a pop artist. He DOES rap COVERS. Yes it's amazing that a hiphop station EMBRACES and WELCOMES someone of Ed's GENRE. It doesn't matter if he's "rooted" in hiphop. How are you taking the context of these words and coming to these conclusions? How is it stupid to see someone who makes POP songs be welcomed to a hiphop radio station? And HONESTLY like him? As one comment here said before, you can tell Charlamagne likes someone because he does research on people he likes to ask genuine questions. And if my comment SUGGEST that it's amazing, maybe you're reading too much into my comment that literally just compliments both artist and radio station for welcoming each other. The FACT is that it's great that Ed can come on to a hiphop radio station and they actually like him. It's not like Ed Sheeran is thinking of how to appeal to people who listen to hiphop music or show how "rooted" in hip hop he is.
