Your overstating Khan's influence, when boris Johnson was mayor we had the same problems. Tories started this mess with austerity, plus all their landlord friends was house prices to continuously increase, they decimated public services, so now policing , the NHS, prison overcrowding . Back in the day, criminals were far classier. Rarely would they wish to hurt the vulnerable. They're a sick bunch today.

I moved to London in 2003, left in 2014. When first there I could walk the dog all hours in Bayswater or Kensington. By the time I left, it wasn’t the same. I’m ready to leave the UK full stop. If Labour win, it’ll be over for the UK. Voting Reform for some hope.

I moved to London - Ladbroke Grove in the mid 1980's. Coming back from pubs or from my mates after 11pm. The only people to be worried about were the police doing a stop and search

I lived in London in 1980/1. There were gangs of skinheads around and plenty of crime. There were the Brixton riots. People who say it was wonderful in the past either have rose tinted glasses or weren't there.

@@jazztheglass6139 know it well and you should know that rich people were always being robbed left and right. Today we have this in our hands and it seems more prevalent. The biggest problem in London has been community breakdown from mass immigration and middle class gentrification that prices out working class communities that used to help stop violence etc.

They need to sort out places in outer London too!!! Namely places near me, Ilford and Romford

I tramped the streets with my mate when we were 14/15 and it was safe sleeping out, wandering around. If anything, people wanted to buy us a cup of tea, etc.

I honestly can't imagine who's committing lots of this crime. Vote Reform.

London is polarised - very rich, very poor - with the two elements living in very close proximity to each other. However, no area of London, not even the most exclusive, is entirely safe, particularly at night.

Well, as someone who has had two murders committed within walking distance from where I live during the last 12 months, yes, the streets definitely are unsafe !

We've got the mayor and the Met to thank for that 😮

We are now a low income country. THE MORE POVERTY THE MORE CRIME. I grew up in poverty in South London and was around alot of violent crime.
