Spike had WAAAYYY too much heart lol. The 3 things he said he hated was: Kids, Dogs and women with attitudes. Ed leaves Spike a pinwheel, later Spike notices Ed's farewell message as he's ALREADY smoking (indicating the stress and depression of her leaving) then he takes the pinwheel and puts it on the nose of the Bebop possibly symbolizing that Ed was his guidance towards a happy path he could never be on in a way. This anime has volumes beyond any other anime I've known.

But they were they things that gave him something of a normal stable life…despite living as a bounty Hunter. What we find out is despite these four strangers with nothing in common. Nothing connecting them together, nor did they own a debt to anyone…they were the closest thing to a family and watching them go their separate ways was hard to watch…cuz they just made it work somehow…

I just take it at face value because its too short for there to be any other deeper meanings. Unlike cowboy bebop where you could write dozens of essays on all the hidden themes and how they show throughout the show.

When my cat disappeared, I listened to the song from this scene on repeat for days to cope. It felt like he left without saying goodbye, but I liked to think he was like Ed here, journeying somewhere happy. He came back after 3 days very hungry. Our theory is that he got locked in someone else’s shed or jumped into a neighbors car and got driven a long distance away because his paws were very tender. But this song will always remind me how I love my cat and how life is precious since loved ones can leave so quickly.

This scene wasn’t just sad, it’s a wake-up call, reminding you that these episodes aren’t just episodic, but are telling a straight story, which is about to come to a violent end.

When I first watched the show, Edward was one of my favoriote characters from the past anime I seen, she reminds me of myself when I was little and this scene made me have a breakdown. One of the best shows I seen in a while...

Never cared much about Ed but when she became frequent in some episodes, I thought hey I may just need that some of that humour if not childish humour. But as soon as I saw that message of a smiley face I knew Ed drew that picture but reading the words goodbye carefully just in case. Yeah I’m gonna miss her man 😔
