Itunes had to make their random playlist algorithm less random because people kept seeing patterns and complaining that it wasn't actually random. Lol patterns are kinda our thing, its one of many things that distinguishes us from other animals so i don't fault you for thinking you keep getting the same characters. It could also be the sharpshooters fallacy or NRS really did program the algorithm to be less random and promote less used variations idk
