Ecollar training with Olive!
We first teach dogs commands using pressure on/off with the leash. When a command is given, pressure is turned on then turned off when the dog commits. Rewards are used for motivation upon completion and the release cue “break” is given to let them know they’re all done with the task and can do as they please.
Once the dog understands commands and leash pressure, we start pairing low-level ecollar pressure with the known leash pressure. This simulates leash pressure and as they learn what the ecollar signal means, we gradually replace ecollar stim with leash pressure. Ecollar communication is excellent for enforcing commands, both indoors and outdoors, in a fair and calm manner so we can move past objections and focus on having fun.
