@@billytanglewood5665 Explain how my review is "slanted". I'm very transparent in my testing and I do identical tests with every power station. I tell it like it is no matter the brand. I don't know how more "objective" a review could be.

@@billytanglewood5665 You must be new. I've been doing this amp noise test for nearly the past two years the exact same way for every inverter. All knobs set to max with nothing on the input. I'm not measuring the background HISS but the 60hz BUZZ. This BUZZ is generated by the inverter circuitry and has nothing to do with the amp or the settings. Noisy inverters pass this BUZZ through the amp. Some products produce this BUZZ and others don't. Try watching more of my reviews and see this very objective test over and over again. By the way, it's a Peavey amp not a Roland which makes it clear you're not even paying attention. Try again.

@@billytanglewood5665 There's nothing wrong with my test. I've done the A/B in other videos. No need to waste everyone's time. Apparently, the issue is that you're in a different reality. This video is about an ECOFLOW and yours is an ECOTECH. SMDH... Strike two, you're out. When you can't even name products you own the rest becomes BS. Glad your "Ecotech" is working out for you. 😆

His sites cover all the pieces and parts needed for mobile self sustaining world. Excellent choices of quality products. His “special codes” with providers seem to be the highest out there. Good negotiation by Hobo.. Sure, he makes a cut on some of these pages, so what? He is the go to for mobile sustainable products, power delivery, and power generation.

Well this convinced me to get one. Ive been eyeing the delta max for use in a garage with no power but couldn't stomach the $1800 all at once. I was able to stack your code with an amazon promotion which sealed the deal for me. Update after months of use: I have the delta 2 with the delta max extra battery being used in my garage. Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase. I added a shoulder strap to the delta 2 so I can carry both units at the same time. The delta 2 is capable of powering every load combination I have put on it without hesitation including: 8gal air compressor plus 300w of lights and fans Shop vac, orbital sander, and 300w of lights and fans 6" circular saw plus 300w of lights and fans The only thing I havent tried is my 110v welder which I feel confident it will power. Something I have not seen advertised anywhere is if you have the extra battery connected the unit will charge at up to 1500w. In my testing the unit is also capable of 2200-2300w for up to 30 seconds and 2000w for well over a minute. I am able to fit both the extra battery cable and a shorter ac charging cable in the compartment on the delta max extra battery. The fans are somewhat loud but really arent that bad, if the unit is in the next room charging I only hear it if I really listen for it and in my garage everything I hook up is much louder than the unit itself. I only have two minor complaints, one of which is when ac power is being fed in/out there is a very noticeable high pitched noise from the circuitry inside. It is not a big deal in my application but inside a house it could be rather annoying. The other complaint is that the cable to go between the delta 2 and extra battery is extremely stiff. Its not so bad when its warm out but if its cold at all the cable is horribly stiff to the point that it can be hard to plug into the units. The plugs also stick out really far from the side of the unit. It would be very nice to see a cable with 90 degree connectors on it and a more flexible jacket.

Thorough review - thanks for putting this together. I just picked this up today and it comes with the backup battery. I don't live off grid daily, but when power goes out it should have what I need to run a tv, Mac, and fridge, lights overnight so I can turn off the RV gennie outside. They say to long press the power to turn on/off, but oddly, neither master/slave turns on/off - just sleeps. Need to re-read the manual! You earned a sub and thumbs up from me.

Note that the solar/car charge plug on the Delta 2 is not xt60 (2-pin) but xt60i (3-pin). To deal with the 15A car charge problem, they make use of the 3rd pin, even though there are only 2 wires. For the car charger, the 3rd pin is connected to + (flat side of the xt60i), and that is max at 8A input (according to the app). For solar, that 3rd pin is instead connected to the - (rounded side of the xt60i). And that allows for the max. 15A for solar charging. So if you are going to DIY a solar charging cable, make sure you get a xt60i female connector, and make a solder jump to the - terminal inside.

Great video! I have a suggestion for a future tests. For solar applications it's crucial to have a good round-trip efficiency in addition to a good inverter and dc circuitry efficiency. Could you also measure the total input energy in kWh needed to charge a solar generator fully? Putting a power meter between the solar array and the MPPT controller input would help in sizing the array. And while you're at it, why not measure the input energy while charging from AC with the Kill a watt you use for inverter output efficiency tests?

Timing is everything... Noise? I can tolerate it in a power down situation. UPS delay? Fortunately my head doesn't explode until 3 seconds without power so the 1-2 seconds that this unit takes to respond is acceptable.

A couple more weeks until the Vigorpool arrives at my doorstep. While that is a very small company compared to the Ecoflow, I suspect it will quickly find the footing it needs. The biggest downside to it over this is a small inverter. But it has a lot of the same Pros and more. It's quieter and if you need more output capacity they said, hey they probably want a bigger battery too. So I really like the idea that it scales.

I have the Ecoflow Delta 1300 and its a great power source. The only thing that I do not like after owning it for a while is the location of all the ports. USB on front with display. 12volt and 110 on the rear. And charging on the side. All that makes it sort of a PITA to use in small spaces. If I ever get another battery generator, it will be a bluetti or Jackery.

the problem with all these companies is they don't let someone like yourself give input and develop the best all in one generator out there. They would save themselves so much headache if they allowed you to be a part of their engineering process so we can get a generator that solves all of our needs. Not sure what ecoflow was thinking but I am holding out for that perfect generator that is decent cost, has all the bells and whistles and can be used for anything and everything. Am I dreaming perhaps, but I will wait til lit happens

I'm not "all in" on a company yet, but it does seem like Bluetti is listening to their consumers/reviewers...I'm still looking around, but the scales are tipping toward Bluetti for me, but, I'm still looking. The other option is DIY builds, but I don't have that confidence yet.

You can actually charge a smart extra battery thru the Ecoflow Wave. I have a Ecoflow Delta Max Smart Extra battery and I charge my battery with my Wave. Charging the smart extra battery with the Wave works pretty much the same way as the add-on battery for the wave. It will generally charge the smart extra battery at about 600 watts with the Wave plugged into AC. Downside is that it does take a bit longer to charge since you are charging at a lower rate then using a power station. I found it take about three hours to charge the Delta Max Smart extra battery from zero to 100%.

Thank you for the great review. What about fans noise at e.g. 100 W or 200 W load (e.g. working in small quite office on computer)? How loud is it at small loads? Or when I would be charging it at the camping site with 500W solar - how loud is Delta 2 when charging at 500W? Would it be disturbing for campsites around? Thank you.

13:28, "So this is not a really good sign", or is it "sine" LOL! Would love to also see "round trip" testing. On the two EcoFlow 1300's I bought on crowd funding, one was 59%, and the other 58%. Pitiful! I bought the 2nd one because mid-campaign they announced that the units could be chained to boost the capacity. However, if you have to put 1278 watts in to only get 741 out, and then "boost" with a 2nd unit, you lose another ~20% of that 741 watts, for a dismal

Warning for solar users: the Delta 2 cannot charge by solar when the input wattage is not enough. The exact threshold is not clearly defined by the manufacturer but I’ve read about users being unable to charge when solar power is under 20-30 watts; input on Delta 2 will just read 0 watt. This is a problem for users who wish to trickle charge by small solar systems in cloudy or rainy conditions.

Please do an update video on the Delta 2 , the firmware flawlessly fixes the UPS switching! Even overrides a 200 watt AC charge limit to match the draw of a space heater. Very impressed and the new lab feature allow automations that enable you set your charging cycles so for example charge from AC at night when it’s free if you have a solar grid system.

Love your reviews Hobotech. Was wondering why you have never reviewed the Delta max 1600/2000. Maybe I missed it somewhere but I searched your channel and nothing comes up. I like the Delta 2 but it is little too under powered for my needs. I like the Pecron e2000lfp but I am a little concerned about the company and dealing with any issues that may arose. I've seen some reviews where people are still waiting for a refund a month after the product was returned. Also read something about there is no way to put the unit output on standby so the battery will drain in a couple of weeks with no use. Thank you for all your time and effort.

Good review, EXCEPT... Ecoflow states in all their manuals that these units(ALL of them) are NOT UPS's. They are EPS's, which means that they will switch over to battery power- with a delay of about 30ms; what I will do is put an actual REAL UPS between the computer and the generator. That way you get the best of both worlds; pass-through power with the generator, lots of backup power for the computer, and instantaneous switching for your computer. Bulletproof. Keep up the good work!

I would like to know if there is only 150w (below 200w for sure) being drawn from AC output, would any fan of this delta-2 turn on? And, I learn that the AC-charging input can be lowered to 200w,300w... for example, through phone-app. Is it always beneficial to make use of lower-power charging? (say, even 700w, 500w, instead of 1200w.... beneficial to the health of the batteries over time)

You can charge the add on battery through the wave 2. Plug the add on battery into the port on the wave 2 and plug it into the wall or use the solar charging port and it will charge through to the extra battery, I know cause I've done it.

Another exceptional review, in keeping with the high quality content you always deliver. The UPS feature that isn't, is definitely disappointing. However, the cost for the base unit and one additional battery is less than $1/wh (even before your discount) and gives you a 2 kwh capacity, with an 1800w inverter, for a pretty darn reasonable price. The compact size and very manageable weight (even with LFP battery) makes this a truly portable solution, which is something a lot of the newer products are starting to challenge. Add in the fast charging capability in the base unit, for both AC and solar, and you could realistically power a small off-grid cabin with it. The wide range of voltage it will accept from solar is something I wish other companies would do. The fact that it can, in fact, run the EF air-conditioning product is a huge bonus. Considering all of these features, one could make a strong argument for this being the best possible option for van-lifers.

I was just thinking I would just get another unit than buy their add on battery. Right now I'm looking for a backup for my wifi and fridge if power goes out. Though I do think I'll end up with Ecoflow I'm just trying to determine capacity. I may start with a smaller one to start and add on units later as needed. My main issue is just making sure I can finish my work on a timeley schedule.

Now I'm quite tempted. They've *finally* implemented LFP batteries for their lower end products. I'm curious how Bluetti could respond to this. Even if they only updated the EB70, I'm still quite interested. With the EB3A and PV200 I could power everything I needed during the day while camping. With my Dometic cooler, the only trouble would have maybe been making it through the night. I usually charged the battery before going to sleep, but having a bigger battery with triple the capacity would probably let me run completely on solar. For a couple years I had some Goal Zero solar panels and batteries and they were alright, but they charged so slow if I ever needed to plug them into the wall. The EB3A's silent speed is faster than the charging brick that came with my GZ Yeti 400. Being able to charge the EB3A from dead to full in a bit over an hour is incredible. I can plug it in for a little while, go for a walk, come back and it's charged enough to last into the next day. I just hope they update the bigger versions to have the included power supply and the improved screen.
