    These came out great Wendy. You did a great job. The reason the rose gold colour pour cured so quickly is due the the try being very porous and the water got sucked into the tray, making the new pour dry up quicker. You could add a little extra water to try to get it to flow a bit better. Another thing that I noticed it Lets Resin have made a mistake on the ratio that they have put on the packaging. If it is 100 powder to 30 water then this is a 10 - 3 ratio. Might be worth mentioning this to them so not to confuse new user's who try it out. Any sorry for long comment. I enjoy watching you video's and love the outcome every time xx

    Great video Wendy! I love this stuff, as well as Resincrete. I found that most (if not all) of these "crete" compounds have a similar ratio of 10:3, or close to that. I've used Aquacast too, and on the Aquacast website, there is a calculator where you can put in the exact volume of your mold and the calculator will instantly tell you how much powder and water to use. I add a few mls to the volume to account for anything I can't scrape out of my container. At least this way we always know how much to mix and don't have extra to figure out what to do with fast! The Aquacast calculator works for all or most of these compounds. I can't include the link because youtube won't print links-- but it's easy to find!

    A little advice. 1st, you can add more water. It doesn't have to be so accurate. To get my measurements without getting annoyed with the math (I was an accountant for over 20 years, I hate math now😂) I use the calculator on the elichem eco pour page. It calculates 35g water to 100g powder, I believe, and I have never had any issues with curing. It's so much easier to use than you think and so much more forgiving than you expect. ❤

    Interesting how the pour reacts to being poured onto itself. I was thinking of how the eco pour needs a seal and wondered if the porous nature of the hardened trinket tray meant that bubbles came up from it as the eco pour set quickly? I had never seen any eco pour put on itself before this video. Really neat idea to try!

    Beautiful, Wendy! I love the almost instant gratification that comes with using the different eco resins. I learned a formula for calculating how much powder and water to mix up for any mold. This is what I use for Resincrete, and it will probably work well for Magic Pour: Put the mold on your scale and zero it out. Then fill the mold to the top with water and make a note of how many grams it weighs. That’s your water fill (WF). Here goes the math! 😂 (WF * 2) * 86%= grams of powder needed; grams of powder from previous equation * 33.3% = grams of water needed. This should give you enough of the total mixture to fill the mold without having a lot left over. In order to keep from needing to do the math each time I use that mold, I write the WF, grams of powder, and grams of water on the outside of the resealable bag that I store the mold in using a Sharpie marker. I like to keep up with the water fill number in case I use a powder that has a different weight and/or mixing ratio. You may need to play with the percentage in the first equation if you’re using a heavier powder. The percentage in the 2nd equation will always be whatever the mix ratio is for the powder you’re using. Jai Catalano with UP Vibe Candles does a great job of explaining this formula on his KZread channel. I hope that helps and wasn’t too confusing.

  • @Toonpish

    @Toonpish

    5 ай бұрын

    ok ive read that a few times lol If i understand correctly lets say the wf (waterfill weight) is 100grams that would mean that it would be 86grams of powder and then 28 grams ish of water Would that be correct? I think I understand and writing it on the baggie is a great idea. Thank you so much 😁😁

  • @OG_Beckie_Leigh

    @OG_Beckie_Leigh

    5 ай бұрын

    @@Toonpish You’re welcome. It was confusing for me to write that out, so it had to be confusing to read! LOL. This is how the math will look with a water fill weight of 100 grams: (100 * 2) * 86% = 172 grams of powder. Then multiply 172 grams by 33.3%, and that will give you approximately 57 grams. That’s how much water you will need. If I end up with a decimal in any of my numbers, I just round up or down to the nearest whole number. I am not trying to play around with fractions of a gram. Close is good enough for me. And, no, I can’t just do that math in my head. I need a calculator to do even the simplest math problems. 😂 I really can’t stand bringing my phone or iPad into the studio with me when I’m trying to work, but on those days I have to. Otherwise, I would be there all day trying to figure how to solve equations with a pen and paper. My brain is too full of old song lyrics to be fussing around with math. 😂😂😂😂

    Hi Wendy,I haven't used magic pour but I have used JDiction s resin Crete and after watching you video they are about the same! I cast a coaster in resin crete and while it setting I dropped resin dye into it a swirled it around, the color was way darker and it didn't affect the product at all, try and see!

    Rant mode on My biggest gripe with Lets resin is they don't stock all their range here in the UK. I went to their US site and cant find a way of shipping to the UK. I cannot see this product at all. I wanted some of their black resin but is it in the UK? No! You can't seem to get the 48 colour ink set either. I contacted them direct to ask about lack of products in the UK and was told they only have a small warehouse here in the UK. Must be the size of a shed. Rant mode off. If anyone knows different please let me know.

    @@Toonpish Thanks Wendy. In no way being disrespectful to you but I find all these companies send stuff to KZreadrs, you think I'll try that but are unable to get hold of it easily if at all. It seems companies like Lets Resin and Jdiction only keep basic 'bread and butter' items in the UK.
