    Would you be able 2 do some pre-infusion on this machine, if you do, 4 how long???

  • @clivecoffee

    @clivecoffee

    5 жыл бұрын

    Hey Roel, the Classika isn't capable of pre-infusion. In order to pre-infuse, the E61 group head on the Classika requires water line pressure. Since it runs on an internal reservoir there is no line pressure. If you have any other questions let us know!

    I have one nozzle on the frothing wand blocked - are you able to remove the end of the nozzle to clean?

  • @clivecoffee

    @clivecoffee

    Жыл бұрын

    Yep! - You should be able to unscrew the nozzle. If it doesn't come off easy, then try using a microfiber towel and a wrench to remove it.

    what temperature should milk be steamed at?

  • @clivecoffee

    @clivecoffee

    In large part it comes down to personal preference but generally, anywhere between 120°F and 160°F is acceptable. Above 160°F you start to run the risk of "burning" the milk which will result in negative flavors. - Charles

    Why does this machine power off (abruptly so) when the water refill tank is below a certain level whilst the boiler is basically full? Is the boiler only for steaming and irrelevant in case you draws Espressi only?

    It's protecting the pump from running dry. Boiler is for both Espresso and steam

  • @clivecoffee

    The pump switch is used to fill the boilers. Turn this on when switching between steam mode and brew mode to refill.

    @@clivecoffee But Tim in the video (Tip 4) advises NOT to use the pump switch when switching between steam and brew mode because water or air may be trapped in the line. Instead his tip is simply to open the group head and steam wand until water flows through both, indicating that the boiler is refilled.

    Does anyone have any issue with the steam wand dripping water? Even when I have the PID up to temp at 138 Celsius in steam mode, the steam is still pretty wet and the wand drips a fair bit.

    The steam on the Classika is generally pretty wet, so this makes sense. The boiler has a limited capacity in which to create steam.

  • @clivecoffee

    Correct. This is because the Classika, and other single-boiler machines like it do not have a dedicated steam boiler.
