What a wonderful kit and the images from Kleeblattcreations are beautiful. The boy sitting in the window is wonderful ........ the paper is gorgeous, all that peeled paint. The fold over, pull outs and such are amazing. I wish I had your brain. I totally get it when you talk about people of the past in an old home. Carol, your idea of catching a fleeting image of a moment past seems perfect for the feel of these papers. I love the first page with the man and the daughter in front of the house. There is the feeling of nostalgia, without a feeling of loss or sadness. As you said, the houses are old, need to be brought back to former glory, but they aren't derelict. There is still dignity there and I love that notion of people and their lives have become part of the past but their structures stand ready to shelter a new generation. Shadows of the past, hints of a future. Beautiful!

Oh, Carol, I really love you nattering. Reminiscings of the past. I get it because when I walked into my house I felt at home. I was also aware of the others in my home. Such lovely kits to work with. The cover is awesome. ❤❤❤🇦🇺💜 Carol, please, keep taking your time. I am great with material and quilting. I find it so easy to create with and I'm on it. But paper crafting is another matter. So you showing where you are deciding on an image or watching you making a pocket from scratch is enormously helpful to me. I know exactly what you are talking about. My daughter lives in a 1960s house and the first time I walked in there I felt like I had been there many times, very comfortable. My daughter swears they have a friendly ghost because out of the corner of their eyes they sometimes see a shadow or something. Carol your description of the Shadows of the Past journal is perfect. People imprint themselves on houses. Even though things happened in the past, they absolutely were as real as you and I are here today. I love the muted colors and the people you placed on the front page.

Love your ideas about this kit & ultimately a journal. We lived in an old 100 year old house years ago & I often looked at the wallpapered walls & fireplaces & wondered about the people that lived there over the 100 years. The children that were raised in that old home. Memories of the past Making a journal is a process & I love your process of getting there. Slow not hurried along.

Carol, you always are bang on with the elements you choose to use. I love the photos and Tracies labels are great for this. I get the plot. It’s like you picturing people who have been in there in the past , the happiness and memories they filled in the house. I think that’s what you mean. I love the shadows of the past. I love old houses and I think they do maybe carry an essence of the people who lived there. I think sometimes if you look hard enough you can catch a glimpse even as you're passing by a dilapidated old house that has lost its people!! I look forward to seeing you work on this one!

I don't like what you're doing... *I love what you're doing* and totally understand your appreciation for nostalgia and sensing glimpses of the past. It's why I like antiques, vintage and well used things or lived in places. They all have a history within them, whether we know it or not. Your getting a slow start with a new journal project is perfectly normal. At the onset, the possibilities seem infinite; as an artist your mind wants to run through them all. There's no need to apologize for that. Many innovations come from such hesitation. You're off to a brilliant start. 👍💚

I was watching an old movie where the characters moved into a very old house. The woman said that a house was more than just bricks and mortar. It was like a perfume bottle that had been empty for years but you can still catch the scent of the perfume. Like the people that were there before.

Just came upon your video. I truly enjoyed watching you create. You have a lovely voice and a keen imagination. I loved your idea of shadows of the past, that leave an energy, likeca fleeting remenant of themselves. Your little vignettes were great and also piqued my imagination. The lady and man at the end, on the sheet music are lovers who by circumstance, are now apart. He is a merchant. She stands at the waters edge, it could be an ocean or the English Channel, as she dreams of the day he returns. He is, as you say, forlorn, as he stands at the cliff's edge overlooking the sea, and thinks of his true love and their last embrace! Had fun with you this evening. I'll be sure to return! Thanks for the company. 🌺🌈🙋‍♀️
