I was in Turn 1 stands during the race. Very exciting. No one complained of the rain. This was a great race and NASCAR made the right calls in signal file starts after wet cautions, and calling the race for inclement weather. This race was a great learning experiment for NASCAR. Some options to address ponding areas on the course ... it could have a permeable pavement, or lowering the profile of the rear of the car with mud flaps alternatives to reduce spray. But I am so happy ... the cars can race in the wet and rain (to a point).

I was sitting in the grass on turn 19, had a great time watching cars use all the runoff and lose control. Think the better line was to stay on the track and avoid the kerbs.

Man, this kid Chase Elliot drives just like our Ayrton Senna on dry or wet surfaces, superspeedways or short oval tracks. Top driver for all sort of tracks or conditions!! 🤜🏿🤛🏻💪🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

@@antonioinaciocosta7094 Nascars are not touring cars they're completely different. if you ever watched senna do a quali lap because there was nothing about those cars that were on rails. in sennas day some cars had 1,400bhp and not a lot of downforce and weighed half a ton they just aren't comparable at all the sports or the drivers.

I enjoy the booth silence with the in car sound and cam while racing during the scheduled TV commercials. No offence to the boys in the booth. Just brings back memories of competing.

I agree and it's a bonus that we get to see more racing and along with most races not being televised is why I will watch Nascar exclusively on KZread.

Watching this race makes me feel Austin Cindric will do okay in the #2 Penske Ford this 2022 NCS Season. He's probably gonna be my pick for ROTY (First ROTY in the #2 in some form since Dale Sr)

I love NASCAR it all thanks to my cousin who works in NASCAR that I watch it I’ve also met several of the drivers to name a few Chase Elliot twice Kyle Busch Joey Logano Kevin Harvick Ricky Stenhouse Jr Denny Hamlin Jimmie Johnson Kasey Kahne and a lot more

They're definitely being a lot quicker to make public the race stream. A while ago you had to wait a week or two before they made race available.

Quite fun to see the cars race in wet conditions. As Jeff Gordon said the rain is a good equaliser As for the race being called short, right decision made. We all know when we drive on everyday roads in heavy rain it can be too much Yes nascar made mistakes but it’s called learning ppl

He was driving like so many do just every day. Sees a bunch of people slow down due to conditions and tries to race around, only to realize they were slowing down for a crash in his lane and he has no time to react.

This did remind me a lot of f1 racing. The action was good, only if there was more attention towards driver visibility.

I dont care what all the whiners and complainers say, this was such a fun race to be at. Got to see all the big action right in front of me in turn 12

I miss the OG's, back in 2013-2015. They will never be forgotten. Although it is good to see that both the Kyle's and Brad K. is still in there.

I feel that if you guys are racing cota next season, you guys must add 2 maybe 3 things to make the event much more like a traditional grand prix. 1.) A standing start. 2.) 3 trophies in 3 different colors (gold, silver, bronze) and 3 different sizes for the podium finishers. The podium finishers are traditionally the top 3 finishing drivers.

Would have liked to see if Chase would have made it to the finish knowing he was two laps short on fuel, but I'll take it.

I'm not very familiar with Nascar, but to me it seems like their full wet tyres must be more like intermediates because I'm struggling to see any real standing water; or are there more extreme tyres for when it gets really wet? Maybe I'm just too used to rain in the UK.

I believe they have one type of wet tire. Nascar does not usually run in the rain as a majority of their tracks are not considered driveable in the rain due to them being high banked high speed ovals. Only a few tracks are allowed to have rain tires, and since it is so uncommon, they only invest in one type of tire for it

it's a aspect of the particular form of auto racing that rarely involves such adverse conditions. the main reason comes down to the cars having no driver's aids like traction/ stability controls, hell they don't even have abs.

When I have to watch a race replay because I am working and the terrible Fox Sports app doesn’t have the video plus it is immoral to give ratings to Fox, why would you put the winner’s picture on the start of video that must be seen to be clicked? I want to watch not knowing who wins. Thank you.

ok for the Harvick wreck, I kinda put the blame on him. Everyone knows that if visibility is low on the freeway, either keep going the speed you are, or pull over, but DO NOT SLOW DOWN OR STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. He shouldve pulled over if he wasnt sure

thank the good lord for technology. motor sports always had a long standing inherent risk, even to life, and many drivers past and present understood that. but doesn't make such incidents any better. thank God the drivers came out OK. hopefully they'll also get checked out to make sure they don't have any hidden brain damage.

that would make the cars even more uncontrollable at high speed. these are not f1 open cars, so their aero profile is more like a brick, and something like mud flaps could potentially create significant aero instability.
