I have always admired how the Duchess of Gloucester is never afraid to wear her magnificent collection of jewellery . I think it a pity that some royals almost seem ashamed to wear their . The jewels are meant to be seen and enjoyed imo

I think the Royals are conscious of not looking too ostentatious.

You say “Birgitte frequently adorns [decorates] a tiara for official state functions.” I think you mean dons [puts on, wears].

Wonderful video. I think the Duchess Gloucester is truly beautiful. I see her at events with the Royal Family but KC certainly is remiss in not utilizing this lovely lady more often. And her daughter would be a fabulous addition to the RF, even though there are protocols. But, gee, he's king. He can change things around and add some much needed royal support to the lineup. Heavy knows the RF is in great need of that.

@@mariamm961 Oh, great. Thank you for letting me know. I need to look for the channels where I can see it. This is wonderful news. I think the "slimmed down Monarchy" has something going for it but I am enjoying to see others in the RF on the front lines more often. I think it will be great when D&D of Edinburgh children begin to tour for the RF. New youngsters is always delightful.

She officially become working member when her husband become a duke that almost 50 years ago. Her representational duty normally less covered in medias as its not major event. So glad that king charles bestow her with Order of the Garter to mark her 50 years as working royal

the Cartier India one especially I think would look stunning. But Tiara's rarely cross lines unless bequeathed, though i think the Diamond and Emerald Bandeau would be more her style

The GLOUCESTERS HAVE SUCH VAST TIARA COLLECTION. I THINK PRNCE Henry, the Duke of Gloucester is the favorite son of Queen Mary or maybe he married late that she was just so elated to have another daughter-in law.

Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent was widowed during WW2 when the Duke was killed in a plane crash in Scotland and she had to sell off a lot of things to pay death duties. What was left of her jewellery collection was divided between her three children, the bulk going to the present Duke and I believe some of her jewels were sold. Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester was the daughter of the Duke of Buccleuch, one of Britains wealthiest landowners and she received many jewels as wedding presents not only from Queen Mary but also from her own family and from her husband Prince Henry. The present Dukes elder brother Prince William was killed in a plane crash just weeks after Richard and Birgitte were married so he inherited the Dukedom and Princess Alice passed her jewellery collection on to her only daughter in law. It will be interesting to see what happens to the Gloucester jewellery collection when their son Alexander, Earl of Ulster inherits the title and it ceases to be a royal dukedom.
