I use the ready made none ethanol fuel. It's expensive but worth it. It won't mess up the carburetor. I have a Echo SRM225

I've had trimmers for years and never knew how to restring one until I saw this video! Wow! How easy it was.

Hmm, my manual cold start says something different... doesn't say move the choke lever after the "burp".. I must have been flooding it... I will try this and hope it works better cause now I'm NOT happy, lol. My manual also says push that little bulb pump 8X's not 5-6... Yep! I push the bulb 5x's... 8x's is flooding it. So this guy's procedure works perfectly! That's crazy that the manual's starting procedure makes the product look bad... ya'll really need to correct that... works perfectly now.

The only time that I have had to pull the rope more than once on my Echo was when I had left the power switch off.

Does Echo recommend that the string trimmer should always be used at full throttle?

Try using a thinner line. That worked for me but still a pain in the ass so make sure you put extra line in your pocket!

So, if you fill the 1 gal can half way... 1/2 gal. to one oil bottle = 50 : 1 just want to make it clear.

Surprised nobody corrected this comment after 3yrs . . . 🙄 He fills gas container halfway ( Really Unnecessary) to only help mix oil bottle, [ Then fills with gas to 1 gallon level] Thus, 🙄 if you been paying attention, 1 Gallon to 1 Oil Bottle. For those with short term memory issues..... Oil Bottle has instructions.

Ha, you can see the little gas can leaks! I bought "No Spill" brand from Home Depot... they appear to work very well!

I bought one of these based on a recommendation. The head broke right away, and now I can’t feed the line.

Dear Echo dealer/mfg, the loop handle on that GT-225 is about the worst design imaginable. It spins on the shaft (~0.895" dia.) no matter how much one tightens that butterfly nut. (I dare not tighten it with pliers [too much], lest I damage the handle). ¿Why oh why this loop handle? ¿Why not a one like the SRM-225 has, robust, much less prone to twisting on the shaft? ¿Was this a cost-down for a US marketed domesticated product? This GT-225 loop handle totally fails. And one cannot even use the SRM-225's handle, as this machine's tube is larger: ~0.990"-0.9875" dia. If you know of a work-around, please advise. Thank you. tonyd\.
