I'm spitting oil out of my muffler. Same exact mix I use on my echo blower with zero issues on any other equipment but my PAS225. But the 225 has been spitting oil since day one. Even first year I was using canned mix 50:1.

Stalker billet muffler on daves discount motors, it can be fit to any echo model. Ive been building gopeds mini bikes etc for years . Your chances of starting a fire without a screen is slim to none . Dont be dumb .

It does work the screen get all carboned up, and then the trimmer starts to bog ,their is a plug under the primer ball if you pull that you can also adjust the carburator.

Hey Zippy that’s the baffle w/spark arrester screen. In some states it’s illegal to remove the screen other than to clean it. After cleaning it must be reinstalled. The real killer is the muffler. Over time the muffler gets clogged with unburned oil causing increased back pressure to the engine. Remove the muffler from the engine and soak it in a carburetor cleaner like B12 Chemtool for a few hours. Drain the muffler then reinstall on the engine. The muffler is now within the restrictive specs and the engine should run fine.

I took my screen out before trimmer ever ran, just not dealing with cleaning it down the road, and did the jetting plug removals.

Most of the time, if someone is having issues with their spark arrestor screen fouling out badly, it is either because they are running too much oil in their mix (like Echo used to recommend years ago), or because they are using cheap oil. I never have any issues with any of my screens nor do I have to clean them, ( I check them a few times throughout the season, but they are always clean), and I run either stihl HP Ultra, or Amsoil full synthetic.

Even though the wires used to make that screen are very thin, they still act as a restriction across that relatively small exhaust opening. To get a rough idea of how much the screen effectively reduces the size of the opening, imagine taking it apart and laying all the wires flat, side-by-side with no space in-between them and you'll see how much it reduces the size of the port.

Every 2or3 years diaphram in carb goes bad you can buy Amazon new carb spark plug gasline air filter. $10-$15.

Don't forget to pop the welch plug off the high speed needle and readjust, these newer 2 strokes run way too lean

I have a 225 Echo when I squeeze the trigger it turns off I change the carburetor but it still doing the same thing.

Does it have more power? I just found three mini manifolds cover the scream of my echo 225. It was a quarter sized slot overlaying one about a quarter sized rounded. Then the screen underneath. Very restricted. While the screen was clean after years of heavy use the inside has a lot of carbon build up.

Why did you remove the screen? Is it suppose to run better?

Can I run my echo 225 without the muffler screan..I use mine commercial...
