This was an exact replacement for the old one that lasted about 10 years. kzread.infoUgkx7yWIKcrbA9KMHkGSfcgxW2lsjHT6B8Sh The top of my mitigation tube by my roofline was just a 90 elbow which allowed too much debris to fall down into the fan, eventually ruining it. Without this issue, I bet it would have kept running another 10 years. When I replaced this fan, I added an extra elbow joint so the top tube now it does a 180, which should solve that problem. The radon guys around here wanted to charge me a $300 diagnostic fee, then parts/labor (probably close to $600 total). I installed this all by myself in about an hour for the cost of the fan; it would probably be even easier/faster with two people. FYI the manufacturer's warranty greatly differs depending on whether you install it yourself (1 yr warranty) or have a licensed installer do it (10 yrs).

In the shed to melt the ice off of the cars or ATVs...to wash vegetables out of the garden before bringing them in the house would be nice too especially in the fall when your fingers get so cold. gotta get one!

Would this be safe inside a barn? I have horses I like to give hot water to in the winter to warm them up. Right now I carry 10 gallon buckets from the house to the barn twice a day and it's not easy when it's freezing outside.

Be warned:- Not worth a cuntful of cold water!!! ~ Total rip-off! (even if it S due to government regulations). Anyone praising them is either an idiot or working for the company. A MUCH better option (other than an expensive commercial system is to tap into the radiator system of your car and run the engine for a few minutes!

gjking. I reiterate my warning; don't waste your money. forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1212275 There WERE several crash-hot, bomb-proof units around for years, but are no longer available. Bosch bought out the best of them, so that might be a place to start. You DON"T need the thermostat bullshit (designed to keep the water too cool to burn yourself with); the original systems used to heat water according to the pressure, and how hot YOU wanted it was regulated by how much cold water you added via the tap: just like an ordinary shower. I never used a pump: a tank-stand (or even just a header tank) 12 foot (3.6 metres) provided consistent pressure that worked all thre brand-names (which I can't remember just now. 4 treated pine poles provided a suitable platform. And/or a pole of dirt left over from bulldozing the house-site worked well for me.

What happens to this unit if you shut off the gas but the pump still runs water through it? Will it detect no propane and shut off? Will it allow bypass?

????? Water hose/pipe attaches to the tap, get's heated by gas which is switched on/off by the water--pressure in the pipe and comes out the top into a pipe running down to your hotwater outlet. When you turn off the COLD water tap the pressure in the pipe drops and the gas-switch shuts the gas off. Y'can by a commercial 'Instantaneous gas hws' for about $500 anywhere these days. Attach a water inlet and outlet and a gas bottle and away you go. Forget pumps/batteries/etc, Not necessary.

Hello Alex, great question. If you do not have pressurized water, you can pair any of our L10 Portable Tankless Water Heater with our Eccoflo 12V Pump and Strainer to pressurize and pull water out of a barrel, bucket or nearby water source. You can get our Eccoflo 12V Pump and Strainer here: www.eccotemp.com/eccotemp-eccoflo-triplex-diaphragm-12v-water-pump-and-strainer/

Im sure this is a dumb ? but does it need to be taken down in the winter? the reason I ask if also for horses. I would like to be able to give warm water in the winter. I can hang it outside the barn and run a long enough garden hose. How do I protect it from snow & ice in the winter.

HELP HELP..... Cant find any help at all. My EccoTemp L5 stays on for 5 minutes then shuts off and won't remain on continuously. The company was not any help. Can anyone help me figure it out. Water pressure was checked at a constant and at the required pressure. The propane tank is a filled to the max 20lbs tank. It lights up just find. Recently replaced battery compartment due to battery acid leak and the Microswitch just for heck of it. I don't see any timer or reason for it to just shut off since water pressure and gas are where they are suppose to be, also no wind blowing out burner and so forth. Look I checked all basics so that's where its at. Also, burner is burning bright and healthy with good flames present.

A HUGE disappointment; tread carefully. THE questions to ask ~ and get the answer on paper! ~ is how 'hot' the water gets and how much is produced at that temperature. For the little heater demonstrated ~ no matter what the brand-name is, they're all the same ~ I found that just over 40 deg.C is all I could get; and that at a piddling 4 litres per minute. Try to push it any harder and it switches off. Even pre-heating the water doesn't help: they're designed to switch off at 50 deg.C Keep in mind that body temperature is 37degC to start with. And using the luke-warm water to wash a few dishes, forget it!

@@PatrickWagz Patrick wags WHAT?? Oh wait! He's apparently an Hamerican, so the answer is obvious! My comment, Patrick, is understandable to anyone here in Oz (Victoria anyway). The heat available and the volume of that heat is strictly regulated by the self-appointed Nanny-State which produced legislation to protect people stupid enough to scald themselves. (Or even get a hot shower unless you know how to get around it.) I can only assume that those people NEED to be protected from themselves, given so many of them are stupid enough to vote for politicians. (AND pay taxes on demand to feed the fucking things!) I'd rather go without a shower....... like YOUR ancestors. :)

@@dabbbles Well, to get the larger volumes of hotter water... my understanding is you have to get the bigger units. They make an L10 model that gets the water temps up to 60 Celsius. That's what I was referring to. To get the bigger volumes of water and the higher temps... I don't think this model (the L5) will do it. But, not sure they sell those in your part of the world. Cheers Mate.
