Getting our new Fat Tire 52V / 23Ah battery, w/ twin 1000W hub motors, brings its weight to over 100lbs! So far, I haven't found a rack that will support two of these. This was a fantastic tutorial - you really have a knack for it!

Thanks for getting back to me. I’m been working on your ramp idea and I came across some 1by3’s in the garage and I think I’m going to attach them to the sides of the 2by4 ramp to provide some sides to make it even easier to keep the tires on the ramp. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

I got the whole thing built and ready for install, but for the life of me, with their instructions, I could not figure out the purpose of the "anti-wobble" plate and fastener. There was no explanation and just a drawing that vaguely showed where it went. Watching your video my reaction was, "Ohhhhhhh..." Thanks so much. You're a great "explainer" and teacher.

I just finished assembling mine. Easy thanks to your excellent instructions and I’m not mechanically inclined, to put it mildly. Anyway two comments. Some of the holes for the brackets were not well machined. I screwed them in by hand and lined up the square on the screw to the bracket and lightly tapped it into place. Second, they changed the washers on the bottom cross bar and did not provide washers for the bar brackets. No problem for me and I’ll add some later if necessary. Thanks again for the advice and instructions.

@@PilotViewProductions I’m definitely doing the bridge and ramp. I have used a black widow holder that had a ramp. Unfortunately it was totally unreliable for holding a heavy bike. Relied exclusively on ratchet straps.

I liked the idea of making my own ramp, but I used a 2x6 because the tires are so fat, it made it far easier to drive it up the ramp. I also "splurged" for a two-pronged padded hook from Home Depot that doesn't scratch the rack. I also mitered the bottom on the board so I didn't have a bump to start over to get it started up. But thanks for giving me the idea. It works great!!!

18:07 The Velcro straps go over the wheel then through the small slot on the end of the tire bracket then back up through the wheel to fasten to itself. They do hold the tire down well this way. Good idea on the ramp. I'll be working on that soon. Thanks!

Very informative video. One question. The flat washer is usually placed first with the lock washer adjacent to the nut or knob in this case. You show the opposite order. I wonder if the instructions have an error there. Thanks

I agree and found it strange as well but that’s what the instructions stated. Thanks for watching Bruce. We are still enjoying this rack and I have an addendum video coming soon where I scratch built a ‘bridge’ across the front wheel cradles. It prevents the user from having to lift the front end of the bike to move it from one cradle to the other side.

You should do more unboxing videos... As usual very nicely done

I notice you have the plate under the U-shaped fastener turned with the slight bend towards the vehicle instead of how it is shown in the manual with the bend facing outward. I'm not sure which way is correct.

Well I’m not sure about the manual but to me it makes more sense to have the majority of the plate bracing the part which is more mobile…in this case the bike rack. The receiver is certainly not going to move.

Hello jedderk. Thanks for viewing and for the question. With this dual rack, it is 'easier' to mount a bike on the rear location due to being able to use the 'tongue' of the rack as a bridge point when rolling the front wheel of the bike from one wheel cradle across to the other. Btw, I haven't tried it yet as I'm waiting to get my hitch installed. Couldn't you load ebike with rack leaned out, then push back up? I saw you did a ramp. I was just wondering? Thanks!

Yes but it would only work for the outside bike.

I cant get my anti wabble to be toght enough to not wobble at all. 😢 Is it safe to have a small amout of wobble?

Mine is tight. Is the wobble occurring at the antiwobble plate location or is there just some play where the rack folds up for example?

The anti-wobble is not supposed to have any play. If however, you are grabbing the bike rack from up top and moving it, you may feel some wobble. If you are grabbing the rack by the shaft coming out of the hitch receiver, it should not have 'any' play.

Is the lock suppose to be tight or can move back and forth ?

The anti-wobble is supposed to be tight but the lock has some play in it.
