Incredible, a prime example of how to make a 90's mountainbike to a 2022 multifunctional electric vehicle. This is what we need for cars!

Maaaate, that’s so clean! 😍 perfect bike for it too, can’t wait to try it out on something. Definitely want to tow the trailer with it haha, should make those hills with a load a bit easier 😅 What was it like to ride with the battery off? Much front wheel/motor drag?
@garysprojects
Жыл бұрын
Cheers man i appreciate that! Yes it definitely helps a lot when carrying a load, so much easier with the kid. Riding with battery off felt fine , not too much drag but you will be carrying the extra weight of the wheel & battery (about 5kg). Okay for me because I have 3x7 gearing 😂😂😂

Hey Gary, I'm glad your getting the chance to see what electric bike life is all about I love them so much that I ended up with three bikes sometimes I just go out and explore new places I don't get to see when I'm driving the car I hope you enjoy going to more places that you wouldn't have gone to on your other bikes mate 👍🏾💙

That's pretty sick. I've been thinking about something similar. I've seen those front end cable supports that hang down a lot more. That could help with your bent cable. I might even have one in one of my many junk boxes.... Ride on !!!

Nice straight forward video of the installation - you made it look so easy. Looked a lot simpler than my cyc mid drive conversion. You are certainly right about the cable birds nest mess but I don’t think internal routing is possible as the end connectors are so much larger in diameter than the wires that the holes in the frame required to feed through would be too big.
@garysprojects
Жыл бұрын
Cheers man! Ended up pretty easy. You’re right the cable ends are pretty big!! Would have to rewire it haha, might be too much work though. I’ll see if I can think of anything else

Great tutorial friend. I’m very interested in the Swytch system. I added the Lyft to my mountain bike mid drive was nice but I did not like the throttle control. Pedal assist is great. I love your hacks and presentation. Great job mate! 🎉

Cheers mate i appreciate that! Anything you don’t like about the throttle? Was thinking it could be fun haha , but yeah the pedal assist works well just feels like you’re going fast w less effort!

The throttle is fun. But MTB gets a bit sketchy on rocky uphill. I think both options is perfection. Pedal assist and throttle. Thank you Gary! A very nice-looking mountain bike (frame not slanted upwards like the new ones). Nice color too. Not too dark. Nice handlebar. QUESTIONS: 1. When the motor first kick in after you begin pedalling, does it thrust in an abrupt motion? 2. Does it indicate when the motor gets too warm/hot? 3. Did you widen your fork for the motor hub to fit? 4. What color of bike? That bike is for keeps. Thanks very much for sharing. Nice video. New here. Liked & Subscribed. Safe biking. God bless.
@garysprojects
7 ай бұрын
Thank you very much! 1. no its not too abrupt as when you pedal you are moving a little bit already, similar to if you push off from starting on a regular bike 2. it does not have this feature 3. i did not have to widen my fork 4. i painted this bike my self (i have made a video in the original restoration) it is matte black with sparkle fade clear coat Cheers i appreciate that!

Great video. Looks like they've put a lot of thought and design into the compatibiity esp for the pedal sensor. On that note, did you notice any issues with the motor continuing after you stopped pedalling or no issues there?
@garysprojects
Жыл бұрын
Cheers man, no problems really, if you stop pedaling the motor will stop and you will just coast like a normal bike, it cuts out pretty quick so no issues here. Also when starting off no issues either, I though it might trigger the sensor too easy but they have worked out the timing pretty well

Love the bike design kzread.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L and functionality. It is hard to align the front tired to center the disk brakes. The brake wheel touches the stationery side of the brake caliper and pad. I aired the tire up to 40 psi as the markings say 40-60psi. Left the house for a few hours and came back to an exploded innertube.All in all it seems to be a good bike. Have not ridden it yet though so that's the max of my knowledge. Update, put a new innertube made sure the tire was set properly and it did the same thing in under 20 minutes as second pic shows.

I paid more for this kit to have it sooner, finally I got it after nine months with a missing part and a range of only 20 KM with the max version, I contacted support and they refuse to believe what you tell them and even when a fault is obvious, they continue to deny the problem, I regret buying this kit, even if the concept is great, the company is not serious.

I feel your pain. The new battery is a good design (I bought the MAX and was able to return it- long story) but the range is awful. I ended up with the Geeko g100 which has a bottle battery design and set up like SWYTCH and the battery lasts 3x longer that the pro max Swytch. And the customer service at Sywtch is awful (they were good in 2021). Sorry.
