For those wondering how this works (I haven't got this device, so just my guess): It is quite simple and smart idea, the base station connect with the marker holder and can detect its relative location. All movements of the marker holder leave a trail and therefore the base station can record the drawing. Of course something must be done to record only when the marker touch the board surface(based on coordinate). That is where it does not work on too rough surface. **Improvement idea**: It will be smarter if the marker holder has a switch to update the color on the computer screen to match the actual color of the marker. Or in case the presenter forget to switch the color, it will be smart to have a camera to detect and adapt the color for the on-screen image based on the actual drawing.

What's the licensing like on the included software? This would be useful in my workplace but we have a large team and it would be of no use to us if we can only install it on one PC at a time.

I wonder is it works like a kind of mode, very interesting tech indeed! Nice review, first time I see how it performs, I saw what I think was the campaign before but only picture.

+Chemy JMHT it's so easy to setup and use. They did a lot of work to make it cross platform compatible. Definatly a unique piece of tech.

best way is to put on a whiteboard if you have one and write write with an dry erase marker connected to the PC

it would be more for sharing things that you put on the board with the students after a lesson is over. also a way to share notes with other teachers when working on new courses and things like that

In my country (Belarus), a College of Electronic have bought 20 smart whiteboard together Ebeam Smartmarker. All Ebeam markers have broked less then 1 year, and Luidia do not answer for our letters about help. Very bad quality and no any service.

It's so expensive, isn't something like taking a photo with Evernote, onenote, or cam scanner similar enough? Sure you'd have to stop every time you want to start a new image but $600 is a lot
