Great video, it’s really nice to see a comparison between Etsy and eBay from a real person’s perspective. I wonder if Poshmark for other platforms could give eBay run for its money. Real world experience, hard to beat👍

Thanks honestly I don’t think it will. Poshmark is 20% and can only ship within the same county. I am honestly not a fan. I have tried it with old clothes and waste of time

Hello! I love your videos, you got me into reselling watches this year! I use both Etsy and Ebay and also find that Ebay has more traffic, moves inventory faster, and is easier to use. One big benefit of watch flipping is that it scratches my "watch itch" and I don't collect quite as much!

Great video, thank you!! I use ebay a lot, never used Etsy. I sell mostly sportcards. The reason I don't like ebay is that the seller has very little recourse if the item goes missing in the mail. Is it the same with Etsy? Also with ebay paypal take their share of fees. Are their fees on the payment side with etsy?

Thank you so much for shring your experience, this was super helpful! So it seems like EBay is the clear winner here. Why do you still sell on Etsy then? I don't see any benefits other than maybe better reach with female customers?

Honestly most products sell better on eBay. However Etsy is 85% female, so female items sell much better on eBay. I have found there is little love for anything female on eBay. Also anything handmade Etsy is better for

EBay fees are 17% you’re paying fees on taxes sold item for $50 plus 6.50 gst You’re paying eBay fees on 56.50 comes out to 17% same thing selling to US every state has a different tax charge

I thought this was a great video. I have been selling on eBay for the last 6 months. It was great to hear about the percentages of men vs women on both the platforms mentioned. I find that a lot of the women’s watches I am selling do not move on eBay. It makes perfect sense now. It sounds like I should open an Etsy account and sell the ladies watches on there and the men’s watches and parts/cases/ movements, etc on eBay. What are your thought?

@@gregthompson8062 yes I would recommend eBay. I know people who make 6 figures on eBay. My advise would be keep your day job until eBay makes more than your day job. Once eBay is full time prepare to spend 40-60 hours per week on it

ebay became a thiefs you not going to make any profit unless you over price the item on ebay .fees are calculated based on the buyer total " tax and shipping " which is illegal fees should be calculated based on the seller final price 13% but you find out that you will be charged 18% fees also if you choose buyer pay for the shipping you will find out you are paying also a shipping label from your side ebay is nothing but rudes. at least etsy will tell you how much you will earn before you list the item

Reselling is toxic. My rule is: if you no longer need clothes, you donate or recycle. This prevents unwanted buys to begin with, and if you do misbuys, you are the one feeling the pain, no need to export the frustration to the next. By donating to a local charity shop, the money earned from your old clothes is not pumping up the disposable clothes economy.
