Ebay is such a hit or miss. I do really like Japanese sellers with Japanese Pokémon cards and items. I always get legit items and they put much time and energy into communication and packaging and what not.

@@ryuuthefrog3775 what's considered a god pack? I sell re packs on eBay for $5 there's 30 cards, mostly, Commons and uncommons, a few reverse holos and holos (I don't know exactly how much, some have 5 or more and they come with a few V, VMAX, GX cards each

In the UK if you can prove that you've been scammed the bank can normally help you... It's definitely worth asking them and sending all the proof.

This x1000. If you have solid proof your bank should back you. If the seller wants to take you or the bank to court for it, take them to court and show the court the proof so that they can get a real spotlight on themselves.

Yep if you pay with a credit card they'll almost always back you since you were scammed and they'll reverse the charge.

WOW, that is so crazy! I was an eBay seller last year and ended up ditching the platform because of how horribly they treated their sellers. I was getting scammed by buyers who were abusing the moneyback guarantee policy nonstop. When I saw your original video and saw you got resealed packs, I was under the impression you were 100%, SUPER easily going to be getting all your money back. That's completely insane that you weren't able to. As a seller, I always had video proof that the buyer was lying, yet eBay forced me to refund them anyway. I'm pretty sure they didn't even look at the videos and screenshots I sent them. Now it's apparently the opposite. When a buyer like you has video proof, eBay ignores it. What a backwards platform they are. I would absolutely file a credit card chargeback if you bought with a credit card.

eBay is trash. Mom had a doll she sold get a refund claim, which went through even though the listing was accurate and she doesn't accept refunds. Goodbye $150 and the doll, which was then listed by the buyer with the exact same information. eBay can get bent.

I bought a ‘handmade knife’ on eBay. I had screenshot proof of the seller saying he would refund me if I sent the item back. I sent it back, he refused to refund me.. sent it all to eBay and they said I’m shit out of luck. It’s a shit platform. Just like Amazon.. shit platform

The change in the return policy turnaround time, like mentioned about graded cards dropping in price, is due to the sports card industry and player's card values going up and down so dramatically.

Dang dude that’s scary idk if I’d even catch that glue. He did a pretty good job but man that just sucks. I’m mostly surprised by eBay tho. I’m sorry my dude. Wish the market wasn’t like this - there’s just so much money in it now it’s bound to attract scammers. Damn shame 😔

Not with cards the value on the cards gone up too much even ebay doesn't want to pay buyers on tens of thousands of dollars if they were scammed too many fake cards on the market and I bet they get these cases very frequently plus the losses the company would have would be insane.

There’s scammers on both ends from the purchaser/consumer and seller. I think this is why reviews and checking the sellers reviews is important. I feel like an old account with a lot of good reviews is important.

@@K-Anator I actually have had the opposite experience. Where the card was damaged or fakes has been returned. EBay is pretty safe in my book.

Appreciate you bringing this to our attention, Rev. I’ve been scammed as well and that 3 day return window is too short. It would be great if eBay allowed buyers to permanently hide listings from sellers they do not wish to see, not just a one time search filter. Sorry that happened to you, and thanks again for looking out for us!

Rev! THANK YOU! I have been trying to get the word out about this. I lost hundreds on a resealed base set booster pack and eBay wouldn’t refund me due to the same policy. I was away when my pack was delivered. Their policies actually say they don’t tolerate fraud etc. Read that verbatim to supervisors and didn’t care at all.

This is why I’m scared to buy anything online…. Or offline lol

I had someone on TCGPlayer just not send the item, and they had sent me clearly photoshopped photos of "proof" when they were trying to get me buy more stuff. Even THEN it was a pain getting my money back and when I FINALLY did, they didn't even want the proof that it was photoshopped.

Thanks for the heads up. I always buy cards from either Amazon or an LGS. Ebay might be cheaper but there's much more scammers out there. Sorry you went through this. Keep up the fire content my man :)

Wow, i have no words. People like this scammer are just fine while I was permanently banned on eBay with no reason for “suspicious activity”, so i literally can’t buy or sell anything ever. This is ridiculous.

Everyone needs to follow this person’s store on eBay so that when they change their username every 30 days we can track them.

Whenever you change your username on ebay, the old username still links back to your new one, you cant hide. When I put in his old username in for the ebay profile link it auto forwarded me to his new username

If I went on a mass killing spree right now and repented at the last second there is no way I would be allowed into heaven. Revelation expands on this further. The John 3:16 "salvation" has been damaging to the churches for that above point. Sure everyone who believes will have eternal life, but will it be in heaven/the new Jerusalem or in the outer darkness?

Great video, I’ve been a long time viewer; but you also have to see this from the sellers perspective as well. I’ve personally had problems with people buying Pokémon products and a month late claiming they contained fake cards, or they were opened, ect. (Which was absolutely not the case) and every time I’d have to take a loss, I’d get a return of Pokémon cards from completely different sets, all commons, non-holos, ect. So this is a problem both way and eBay really needs to figure out a way to keep everyone protected. Sorry about your luck man, sellers are getting the short stick a lot too. The seller you purchased those from really needs to be banned on PayPal and Ebay

That's a shame. I had a similar experience, but different reault. I bought a PSA 10 basketball card and someone else bought the same card in PSA 8 from the same seller. They got them mixed and sent me the PSA 8 and the other guy the 10. Fortunately, the seller had enough integrity to do what was right. They ended up refunding me and letting me keep the PSA 8. The other buyer wouldn't send back the PSA 10 card though, so I think the seller just got hosed out of that card...

@@alexsolis1955 Well for one, the seller offered this of their own initiative. I was willing to return it and had said as much. Two, you are acting like the seller was the victim in this situation and I was the bad guy. To an extent, you are correct in saying the seller was a victim (as was I). They did get hosed by the other buyer, but at the same time, the seller is the one that sent the wrong cards to the wrong destination. You acting like I'm the one who did something wrong in this situation is pretty messed up and makes me question your morals and ethics.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of bad buyers and sellers wherever you go. I understand why eBay did this to protect the sellers, because a lot of bad buyers will wait until 29 days to file a complaint about a perfectly legitimate item. It’s happened to me as a seller a few times. I’ve never sold or bought TCGs though, but I know there seems to be a higher rate of scammers on both ends for hot collectibles. I’m disappointed eBay didn’t refund you in full and escalate your situation, as well as shut down that particular seller. It’s worth calling again and demanding (politely of course) to speak to their fraud department if they have one, or someone who can actually do something to help. Definitely open packages as soon as you get them and inspect everything carefully.

This is good information to have, not sure if I’d ever be at the level to purchase vintage packs, but knowing this, it’s scary to buy, especially with eBay’s ridiculous return policy.

Hey rev, I’ve had so many issues with eBay in the past with people claiming not receiving items when I sent them, fake boosters etc. EBay has been losing a lot of sellers due to their one way protection for buyers and no sellers. Good news though as on my most recent scammers I have been able to contact eBay directly speaking with people the senior account managers and they found in my favour. You have to push hard but they listened eventually. Keep trying you may be able to still win.

Def second this. Talking to them on the phone absolutely helps as well, I had a shipping mess up by the PO and lost an entire card order shipped with ebay shipping but because I contacted ebay personally - both myself and the seller were protected and reimbursed by them.

🧐 What kind of rabbit hole did I go down to where I'm watching a 50-year-old guy talking about Pokemon cards 😂

TLDR; I got scammed, too. I got scammed on Mercari once. I bought a couple items for about $250. Got the shipping notification pretty quick. But for almost a week. Nothing. And then. On a Wednesday. I woke up with about four emails from Mercari. One to let me know the item has shipped. One to let me know the item has arrived. Another to let me know to review the item, and give feedback so the seller can get paid. And another thanking me for giving feedback. All these emails were sent within five minutes of each other. The tracking showed it got “sent” to a completely different address. The person I spoke with replied, “hmmmm” I feel even they were shook. They said it looked like mail fraud and were gonna escalate it. which Who knows if they ever did. And the person deleted his account that day. So who knows. But luckily I got my money back, and was able to purchase my things from another seller who turned out to be cool, and super legit. I’m sorry this happened to you, Rev. again.

In the past ebay has ALWAYS sided with the buyers, they finally did this and started to protect sellers. In this case it does seem like this policy probably hurts TCG cards/products especially in your example. But as far as sports cards go there are plenty of stories out there with people asking for refunds 2-3 weeks later because they bought a player that was blazing hot and within two weeks, they saw the price of the card cut in half. There probably needs to be a better middle ground or maybe different rules from singles and wax, but even when eBay tries to account for this with higher end product people complain about how they have to send stuff to a third party even when they claim "obviously it's not fake"

Hey Rev I’m sorry that happened to you and everyone else that gets scammed. I wish us as a community could do something about it, it happened to me before and the feeling you get when you find out you were scammed is overwhelming and especially when the loser gets away with it suck!!! I hope people pay attention and thanks again for the warning.

As a high volume trading card seller on eBay, this rule has discouraged many would be buyer-scammers from filing not as described claims with eBay. So it’s a two-sided issue.

Exactly correct. It's super easy to get scammed as a seller also. This is how I see it, bottom line, returns of sealed products should not be accepted. The one exception to this is if the buyer has video footage of opening sealed products and there's an issue. Then a return should be guaranteed regardless of the time period after which the goods were received. Seriously though, and I say this as someone who buys tcg products on eBay: I can buy a $1000 booster pack which is completely legit and then claim within three days it's resealed and ask for my money back. eBay would side with me. If you are lucky the seller could negotiate a 50% refund but that would still mean I got a vintage pack for half price. Sellers beware.

From what I know eBay added this policy because people use to buy graded cards and return them if the card fell in value. eBay always had/have good protection for the buyer than the seller so this policy kinda protects the seller. Unfortunately, some people will always use something good to do bad and it reflects badly on all of the honest sellers on eBay.

One of the first videos I did that I was so adamant about was a video where I got scammed on a resealed gold strip blackout theme deck - but you are fully in the right to be exposing them. Thank you for this video because 3 days is really a tight timeframe. I make videos too and it’s really hard fitting in all my packages within 3 days. That being said I totally agree with you there needs to be more time. Lately for this reason I’ve been opening my cards immediately and if I can’t find time to do a video I just lose the opportunity to make content but peace of mind I get my stuff.

It's a no brainer that there's thousands of resealed packs. That's why I called Leon Hart for faking all his charizard pulls he litterly reseals all his pulls and adds all the secret rare charizard to get views 😂

I had this guy reach out to me regarding one of my listings that contained opened packs. That’s crazy. He didn’t purchase from me but I bet that’s apart of his strategy. He specifically asked if I had Skyridge opened packs.

It sucks that people are buying empty packs for scamming purposes. I for one am actually considering trying to by empty packs so I can make a cool wall display of all the pack arts (cant afford all of them sealed lol 😭) but now i feel like people aren't going want to sell emptys because of scammers....

I think the most important thing to do when buying on eBay is just check the sellers history/feedback and if they are established. If they are less than 100 feedbacks then just don’t buy anything worth more than $10

you can tell if they are resealed before you open them(with your eyes closed after you have "felt" a few packs). the packs are sealed with heated jaws, they melt/fuse together the material, the jaw uses heat and pressure and depending on jaw plate pattern will create indents or ripples to maximize surface area to improve seal strength. if you pinch the seal either side and move across the seal you will feel the indents or ripples, once the pack is opened the indents or ripples become stressed and loose there ridgeness, when glued back together you with not feel the indents as you pinch and move across the seal. its minute detail but if you have sealed packs try it and then reseal one yourself and see the difference, it can look immaculate but it will never feel the same without applying the correct heat and pressure and jaw plate. its more noticeable on old wotc packs due to "better industry processes". sometimes you can visibly see the stresses in the seal integrity just by the picture

I got scammed on a booster box of astral radiance. The good news is I got refunded immediately and they didn't even want me to send it back. So, I gave my buddy's daughter 36 fake astral radiance packs, and she's too young to know the difference. So it worked out in my favor regardless

He’s lucky I couldn’t find him because I was going to bombard him with DMs. I usually message sellers who lie in their descriptions (i.e. calling a card “shadowless” when the images clearly indicate that it’s not). I just don’t understand how you can lie and steal from people like that with no remorse or second-thought.

Glad u actually spoke about it and showed the seller. Most people nowadays are scared to do so, but if we as a community can’t be aware and avoid these ppl it’ll happen more. We just need to learn how to avoid these ppl and not actually harass them bc they’re not worth our time and attention.

Brother, from a sellers perspective. This rule was made because people who would buy cards then if a player, for example, got hurt or didn't win within the LONG 30 day return window.. they'd just return it and the seller loses out. Been there. 😔 I'm sorry for your end, but.. the rule is pretty clear cut...you maybe had not known about the change, didnt read, and don't/can't/couldn't (understandably so) pickup your packages in time..I see your end but I see eBays side too. 😱 As far as the scammer that's STUPID, scum of earth 🤢 . I'm sorry. Maybe take more time to read but I understand how busy you are. 🙈

that’s insane and absolutely sucks. i’ve been wanting to start my own vintage collection myself but for these reasons i’m scared to. I hope one day i come by a trustful source to purchase some.
