EATING VENOMOUS SNAKES | How to field dress and cook a venomous snake

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

How to field dress a venomous snake for survival purposes. In any survival situation you would need to source food from the environment and foraging doesn't always deliver all of the nutrients we need. Knowing how to capture, kill and field dress a venomous snake could provide you with a valuable food source that is high in protein. In this video I show how to eat venomous snakes from catch to cook. The snake I have in this video is a Puff Adder which is not endangered in the Western Cape. Catching and eating venomous snakes is a dangerous task and should not be done unless in extreme cases for survival purposes. One snake was used for demonstration for the sake of the public educational domain in this video, however this is not something I would recommend anyone try at home.
This video is not recommended for sensitive viewers.

Funny...i broke down with only $40.00 in my pocket. I prayed and said "Lord, you see the problem i am having. I'll leave it up to you to give what you thjnk i need. I had my parrots in the truck, Big Boy Restuarant was nextdoor so I setup my photos with parrots gig. I needed $180.00 to replace the radiator. It was ready to go in 2 hours, and the Lord gave me $250.00 in 2 hours. Sometimes if you leave it up to the Lord, he will give you more than you need. Certainly more than you would ask for.

Wow what an amazing story, thanks for sharing that here. A friend of mine had a similar breakdown story and also left it up to God. Sometimes we perceive things 'going wrong' as bad but it may just be God showing is a useful detour. C

Excellent video. I don’t have venomous snakes where I live but it’s interesting to know how to handle one. Could you use the venom to lace dart tops on darts for a blow gun or arrow heads on a make shift survival bow? I agree with your idea of living from your bugout vehicle first then slowly immerse your survival skills as supplies run out.

Hey Jack, I'm wondering about the venom arrows, I'm sure it could work but you would have to cut away the part of the animal that the arrow hit for safety. Technically ingesting venom should be ok, but it would be better not to ingest that tissue. This is where our ancestors developed skill and knowledge to the extreme. I think it's worth looking into but can't be quite sure. Thanks for your q, I still have to get around to watching your falling through ice video, sounds interesting! C

@@LiveReady I have only seen documentaries on tribes that use poison to arrows to hunt with. As you said it’s skills that our ancestors learned. It’s a skill I would have no knowledge doing and would be scared trying it in a survival situation.

The instructions seem useful. But the car, all other equipment - kind of kills realism of "survival situation". If you used branches, stones / embers for the cooking, etc, it would've looked much better.

Hi there! In the beginning of the video I explain how we progress from having stored supplies and gear to transitioning to primitive skills once we run out of resources. If you were on a hike and got lost and had only your backpack you may have used different implements, but not every survival skill is applicable only in primitive 'no gear' circumstances. Check out the video I made about vehicle survival skills, it puts things into context a little more, like should you be stranded with a vehicle. A very realistic scenario.
