the best salted egg chicken rice is to go outfield and then when u return, order from the rude uncle that owns jia yuen eating house, eat it while laying out equipment for equipment check. no other salted egg chicken rice can beat the taste

Should try new station salted egg pork at far east plaza. Definitely one of the best

oh no :( you went to the wrong one thats the rival's one. The original one moved and changed its name to 3 meals a day, which is right next to the one you went to.

Yes it is! But it’s very very similar to the first coffeeshop we went (Xin HAO Wei), so I decided not to repeat feature it! I give that a 8/10 too :)

Honest opinion : I really don't understand what's the hype about Jia Yuen. People keep saying it's the best food they eat in the army but I don't have Salted egg chicken meal during my NS. (Or maybe because I Air Force) I tried it once on my own and was a bit disappointed that it's not freshly cooked, a bit cold. The coffeeshop was filled with uncle drinking beers there at night and I feel so odd one out eating the food there on my own. It doesn't help that the coffeeshop is so small. The location is also really terrible for those without cars. For the sim lim one, I'm kinda disappointed not to see '3 meals a day' as 3 meals a day probably has the best salted egg chicken I ever tasted few months ago. The chicken has that perfect crispyness, drenched in salted egg sauce that is really flavourful with that really good chilli kick. The store is really crowded but shouldn't be a problem if you come after 7:35pm. The lady boss there also quite nice, surprisingly with the amount of people coming each day. I never tried the rival one in this video though. (And Hwa seafood, yet)

I think they know you are filming and they add a lot of salted egg. I went there I think the salted egg chicken have no salted egg taste. You only smell the evaporated and condense milk. It’s a very diluted version. They should just increase price and add more salted egg. No point keep the price low but become milky chicken

Xin Hao Wei was so disappointing. Rice was so dry, whole fish was so dry. Chicken was alright only. I can understand if quality dropped after a few years but this video was less than 3 months ago.
