Eating my BAIT.. (Catch, Clean, Cook) *Surprising*

Cast Netting, Cleaning, Cooking, and Eating the MOST POPULAR Baitfish - the Mullet! We head out to go saltwater fishing from the surf in North Florida and run into a big school of bait. We get out the cast net and attempt to catch clean and cook whatever we catch.. I did not expect for this to happen.. I've heard mixed reviews on catching and cooking mullet. Let's see if they're any good fried!

I live up by where you've been at lately, fished most of the spots you've been hitting over the last year. Anyways in South Florida mullet get massive, I've caught them over 12inches in my net before lol.

Heck yeah another video! When I use the cast net, I twirl one time and while I’m twirling it allows the net to open up and then I throw it. It always is a pancake. I would definitely try it! Just do one spin and throw! Awesome video man! Last year I was using the cast net and caught maybe a 1 1/2 pound mullet and it was the funnest thing!

I’m Bengali and your recipe for pan fried mullet was actually very similar to our method of pan frying them. I’m in nj and every year my family and I go for these fish and make a nice mullet fish fry to go with some rice and caramelized onions. So glad to see others trying mullet because I completely agree that they are underrated. Loved the video!

Great video! You should do one of those KZread rating videos that people often do. But do it on all your previous catch and cooks. That way we can see how you rate the different species as far as taste goes.

You can get a lot of items designed for scaling, but if you use your knife, turn it around and use the "back" of the knife. That way it won't dull out. But a simple spoon can do the trick as well. Great to see another awesome video. Still can't believe how great your first kayak trip was after the injury! Tight lines

I’ve got a tip that may or may not help ya. While I think adding garlic and onion powders as well as your STATIC is probably delicious, you kind of want to sell the Static I assume. If so, I’d present it more as “all you need is a bottle of my Static, because it has all the flavor you need in there !” as opposed to the impression that even if you get a bottle of Static, you’re gonna want to add some more seasoning to make it REALLY good. Do you know what I mean ? Otherwise, I really enjoy your videos. You seem like a really nice guy who just takes us along fishing. Keep up the good work !

If you have to de-scale fish inside, put them in a clear plastic bag and de-scale in the bag. It saves having flying scales all around your kitchen

If you can get the ones ab 12in they are amazing for tacos. Clean them just like u did then cut down the whole fish like going to filet it. U can pop the spine out so u have one fish with 2 flaps. U can season inside and fry them up. So good!

With a cast net that small, there is no need to fold the net in half in your hand before throw.. But, if you want to fold it, you have to WHIP it you throw so get the fold part pancaked faster.

scale it first always going to make your life always a lot easier. also, if you angle opposite of the scales but still go up against them it'll scale a lot better and won't tear the meat to as much (especially if you have fragile meat fish). Lastly you can use the back of your knife when scaling. It'll preserve your sharpness on the actual knife side.

You can use a butter knife or the back side of a fillet knife to scale them. So u don’t have to worry about dulling your blade if that’s a concern if not That’s cool too. Probably not that big of deal on that small of fish but the bigger scaled ones

Love your videos @firststatefishing , but you need to up your catch and cooks. Your fillets are so tiny, you make a little portion for yourself. Make those big ones count. You have your own seasoning out now. Make it worthwhile with some nice big fish. make a meal, and show how you do it in your camper, or on the beach, or in the back of your truck.

Man i'm born and raised right here in jacksonville florida...... I would love to teach you a technique... Of catching mullet on Rod and real... And they're like 14 inches long and a pound or 2. They taste so freaking good.... Completely off camera just would like to teach you. It's a blast... You tie a chicken rig with like five Number 8 hooks.... Put on a bobber. And chum them with balls of chum.... You can catch 2 or 3 One pound mullet at a time.
