I'm from Jamaica and my friends are from Laos. The food is phenomenal. I always look forward to the holidays. We enjoy coming together.....Laos cuisine and Jamaican jerk chicken, rice and peas, etc etc etc

Food like that is so normal for us. Sometimes dialy meals and it's still such a trip that even amongst the Asian communities, we really don't eat the same stuff at all

Spiciness for sure starts in the womb. My mom ate lao papaya salad every day when she was preggo with me LOL

Girl, I was giggling at you asking how to cook the sticky/sweet/glutinous rice, because I think at first you thought it was a kind of rice you’ve never had before. It’s the same kind of sweet rice that they serve in dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves at dim sum, the kind that you bought to make your Korean purple grain rice mix, and that mochi is made of. It just throws people off when it’s shown to them in a different form, but it was so cute how you were in awe of it being kneaded lol!! So many Asian foods and desserts are made with the flour and whole grains, and I think you’d be totally amazed at how many things you eat without knowing that they’re comprised of it! Love your videos so much boo!!

Coming from a Laos native, half Laos half Dominican. My palette is diverse AF. I love me some Lao food tho, miss my moms beef jerky, been sticky rice crazy since in diapers. Coming from a Laos-y Dominican. Lol 😂 😅

I made sticky rice last week with thai grilled chicken wings. I was craving it. I hadn't had it in over 6 months.. I should make it more often.

I HATE squeezing my rice in my hands like dough lol. I love the graininess of my sticky rice when I eat. When it's all mushed up it feels so heavy and chewy with a lack of textures 😂

I can’t stop myself when it comes to sticky rice! It goes perfect with Laos sausage, chicken wings, and can’t forget the papaya salad! You know it’s the real deal when it has the fermented crab in it 😋 only problem afterwards is your stomach will pay for it later 😅
