I love watching your videos, thank you Jon. I am a Chinese American urban farmer in the US (colonized Turtle Island)...trying my best to grow my own food and encourage others to do the same.

So true! I've been adding new veggies to plant in my garden to try every year so i can eat different varieties of vegetables. Some of them now grow like weeds from the seeds that fell last year in the fall. They are healthy so i save some of them and give to my friends and planted them in raise beds too. Eating what grows in the yard is the way to survive food shortage and to stay healthy. Thanks Jon! ❤🙏

I agree totally with you on our loss of diversity in our food. We have been growing our food and adding something new every year. It is very exciting to expand our taste. And you are so correct when you say there is alot of "knowledge" in the world, but wisdom is in short supply. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.

Thanks Jon!!! Food is medicine. We are what we eat. Land is the source of nutrition. Soil is a living organism. RETURN TO THE LAND! (Cut Out the Middleman) Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) "Will work for food. No work, then no eat."

it's true. most people don't even realize that the boxes and bags they're eating actually only contain three ingredients, over and over: processed wheat, sugar and oil. 365 days a year, 3 meals a day, and 2 snacks all made of the same stuff over and over.

I eat mostly plant based. Sweet potatoes are my go to food. I don't have a refrigator but use a cooler to hold my grains and bread and nut butter. Never do I buy frozen items. I buy a few things but my neighbor cooks all the time so there are leftovers. rather than letting that food go to waste, I eat leftovers. Meat does find its way into my mouth, so I do pretty well. In a joking way I call myself a bottom feeder. But yeah, the first thing I look at when food shopping is what packaging its in. I avoid the plastic containers holding just about everything. For my greens I buy and drink the superfood, Amazing grass instead of imported fruits and veggies. Been doing it this way for 5 years. I have great health

Our ancestors knew everything about food, they were much smarter than us. They thought about nutrition every day. Had to because there were no stores. Prep. sometimes took days or even months some stuff even years. Much thought and planning was done. Special foods were fed to pregnant women so they would have healthy smart children. We don't do this now and is a big reason there are so many stupid people and ill people. They were healthier and smarter than us. And better looking also. This knowledge has to be reassembled if we are to survive as a species. There is a beginning, there are some books, but much more has to be done. We all need to experiment and learn and pass it on. Labs to study nutrition are needed. Economics are going to get harder and without good health and smart brains life will be hellish. God Bless you Jon, your heart is in the right spot.

In Bangalore, you will find small "hole in the wall" places that serve delicious coffee for Rs 10 and a full, nutritious meal for Rs 50. You go to US-style coffee chain and you pay Rs 150 for coffee that tastes like chemistry and burgers loaded with three times the daily recommended amount of sugar. Yet, people prefer the US-style food though it causes diabetes. Even kids are developing diabetes now by following this processed food diet.

we often forget that the food we eat affects our body, our overall health and well-being. I'm going to take a more natural and nutrient-rich food. Thanks for the reminder to be more mindful about what I'm putting in my body!"

I was pretty basic in my diet when I ate meat still, 26 years ago. I still ate a somewhat varied diet, but nothing like it is now. Becoming vegetarian pushed me to diversify into many seeds, grains and new spices and vegetables as well. The mostidifficult part for sure is developing new recipies that nicely incorporate all these ingredients. The will to eat them is there, but they have to work well together and that is really where the challenge comes in.

Explore vegeterian recipies from around the world, from India to Jamaica... the variety is endless. Let's take advantaģe of the technology, when we can, since we also have to suffer from it anyway.

The US has designed society in a way that rewards large, homogeneous systems - in commerce, healthcare, agriculture. This is not sustainable and disastrous. Asian countries should not copy!
