Go to eat at Old Wild West steak House, try Cheyenne menu ( Angus) , it's very tasty....but nothing compare with "Mici"...also the italian pizza is not very good for my tastes...

Go to Caorle, there are some nici restaurants in the city center. Caorle is not far from Venice.

Notes for Italy travelers: Pepperoni means peppers not meat sausages. If you order a latte in Italy you will get a glass of warm milk since that just means "milk"!

The rice ball you had was a classic saffron arancini with mozzarella. It's the saffron that makes it yellow.

Similar to ice cream, gelato is made from a custard base of milk, cream, and sugar. The difference lies in the proportions of each with gelato having more milk (and less cream) compared to ice cream. Gelato also doesn't usually contain egg yolks the way that ice cream does.

If you ever get back to Venice, take a boat tour to the islands of Murano, Burano, Lido and Giudecca. Murano is famous for its handblown art glass factories, Burano for its handmade lace and colorful houses, and the other islands are less touristy but still have interesting sightseeing, shops and cafes.

I’m brasilian, and felt in love with you 2, I’ve been to Venice 3 times. The first, with my parents, in 1980, at Carnival, absolutely amazing! The second time, very quickly, and the third time, I had a very good friend who was living in an unbelievable apartment, in grand Canal, very close to Rialto , a wonderful view, and I was there for 12 days! He worked during the day, so I had full time to walk the whole “Fish” and islands like Murano and Burano. Unforgettable!

Being a Romanian wit an Italian Grandmother, I can say the video made me hungry :) Enjoy the city break! I can't stop but wonder, hearing Steve saying "foarte bine" in Romanian whilst visiting maybe the most important tourist city in the world, Venice: What is the reason for that? Why still remember Romania, a quite unimportant and obscure Eastern European country? Is it the nature, the food, the people over here, the lifestyle? It's weird for a Romanian not to complain about our country and the everyday life, apart from our painted nationalism and pride. Do foreigners see us differently, or it's just us, not seeing the forrest from the trees?

Tip for future tastings: Good gelato it is not elevated, because that means it was made with cream and air. Good gelato is made with milk. If it looks extravagant like that ice place it is not the best. The colours should be natural. Ingredients are important.

Spritz is a classical for everybody in Venice!

I have been to Florence. It is a wonder! Fly cheap from Bucharest to Bologna and from there take the train to Florence. It is beyond Venice.

I’m romanian and i hate to admit i like italian food so much, maybe more than our traditional food, they have amazing food culture.

You guys are full of surprises. Romania straight to Italy, straight to Venice. Remarkable, indeed. The city looks like it was specially built for movies, but it is actually the real deal, as you've said. Amazing, and to do in a lifetime. Actually Italy is full of art and history. Check some museums if you stay longer, the famous ones. I would so like to go closer to Michelangelo's sculptures, to see the details, if possible. Anyway, Venice is the place to visit and dream. I am amazed that you found relatively cheap food there. As you go west prices are higher, and the cuisine more elaborate and expensive. But there is something that I'm curious about: is the food tastier than in Romania? For sure they have more castles, landscapes, all bigger and better, but still. you know. It was all that history that was doing things to be actually like that. It was for all the geography to blame hahaha.

peperoni in italian means "bell peppers". Pepperoni with double p doesn't mean anything. If you want "american pepperoni" in your pizza it must say "salame" because this is the translation. But normally the name of the pizza comes with the name of the meat -prosciutto crudo pizza- (cured ham pizza) , pizza al prosciuttto cotto (cooked ham pizza) -bresaola pizza (kind of dried beef pizza) etc...if you read peperoni, bell peppers is what you're going to get.

I think gelato is made out of real ingredients, and they use (again, I think) egg yokes or something instead of milkcream? I'm like 5% sure so don't count on me 😅

Love your food hunt video it gave me a lot of good information. Ivana how long wehre you gus in Venice for. Where did you stay. We are going there in Sept 19 to 23, 2023. I am looking for a place to stay for me and my hisband we are in our early sixties. our first trip to italy :)

Tramezzino in company of coffee/capuccino ???? OMG ! Cannoli is as Venetian as Pineapple in Anchorage.Across the squero Tramontin there is NO restaurant , just osteria.There is no Anchovis in Frittura Mista!. Arancini - typical Sicily , not Venezia ! Second round "Pizza" is not Pizza !!!!! I'm not sure the "lady" was Italian , surely not Venetian. Bicycles are FORBIDDEN ! Gelato is ICECREAM , but made a bit different as "transatlantic" ones .........

Well done guys! The pizza though, looks revolting. Who needs pizza from Venice when you have the amazing Portofino Pizzeria in Quebec City? And it's one cannolo, two cannoli. No such thing as one cannoli or two cannolis. The same applies for arancino and arancini.
