Matt, I don't even know how many times I saw the video of your time in Corfu with your family! It worked as a great guide for me last year as I traveled to Corfu and the other Ionian Greek islands. Right now I am starting to organize my trip to Malta, Crete and the Cyclads, and... I ran into you and this awesome video!!!! What a blessing! I can't even tell you how happy I was to find it. As usual your video just flies. It could have been 2 hours long and I would still watch it in absolute delight! All in all, I just wanted to express - all the way from Brazil - how much I enjoy your work!!! ❤ PS: If I may suggest something... go to Rhodes! Rhodes is historically connected to Malta, as the Knights of Saint John were there for many years before going to Malta.
This is the best one I've seen on KZread about Maltese good so far! All content is real Maltese food. So many come up with dishes in their videoes which entirely not Maltese such as Ravioli, which are Italian! Well done!

Great video from a fellow Maltese person :) The Maltese language is a semitic language derived from Arabic and Latin but throughout the years it has incorporated other languages including; English, Italian and French.

@@TheMattJames Hi Matt, thanks for the video. I'm a big foodie and heading to malta in late September. What time of the year did you vist?
Up to the start of WW2 rabbit that had escaped captivity multiplied and over run the main island of Malta. When Malta was laid siege by the Italian's and Germans during the war, food was scarce and the rabbit was hunted to distinction. There are no rabbits now native to the country and they are band from the island unless killed before delivery for food. Strange when Rabbit is considered a national dish.
Malta does seem beautiful my nanny (step grandma) was from Malta 🇲🇹 my stepdad made a really nice pork and potato dish I forgot the name of but it was so good the pork fell off the bone and the potatoes when they weren’t too hot melted in your mouth
Beautiful ✨️
Maltese language comes from arabic/english/italy those are the mains than you got the other wich you have only like 1-20 words such ad france, spain etc etc. Thanks for the video love it

You missed our delicious bread! It is called hobz. It's a round loaf of sourdough bread, baked in a wood-fired oven. Every village has the bakeries. They are family-run. But in Valletta, they are in the outskirts. So you didn't run across one. Are you still in Malta?

Because how else do i explain what you are seeing? if you just want to see a montage of footage of the place without any context, go to google images, or just visit malta yourself...? This video is for people interesting in LEARNING about the food from Malta, so I always include a balance of information where I tell you what it is we are eating, and show you the food itself...
Tunisian spoke Arabic or Barber that time. There is no Tunisian language dude. Basically the Muslims came to Malta and they spoke mainly Arabic x

when i was in Malta a few weeks ago, i keep smelling this sweet scent used by men in Valletta. It smelled like citrus and floral, with some hints of musk and leather. most men used this, not sure if it is an aftershave or a perfume. does anyone know what it is?
The Maltese language derived from the old Sicilian language. The Sicilian language has now changed whereas the Maltese hasn't

Your island history is incorrect; I'm sick of the people making comparisons of the Maltese as an English disciples. We are more Italian than any other country. . As both my parents are from the island, we're both proud of the Maltese independents. The British made the Maltese 2nd class citizens whilst they bastardised the isle to the effect of this video. They still believe in ruling the native people. Feel free to make a video of the island, but please respect the locals who don't want any part of the UK's influence.
