Eating 61-year-old Survival Crackers - Civil Defense Food

Stocking foods that have a very long shelf life is an important part of personal preparedness, but what about Cold War era Civil Defense "survival crackers?" These were sealed in cans to feed Americans in public fallout shelters in the event of a nuclear exchange with the Soviet Union.
I open a can of these old survival crackers to test how they are today and I wash them down with equally old, canned Cold War era survival water.
Will they be good... or gross?

Back in the late 70's we had a neighbor who had cases of these cracker tins, and we'd beg him to fork over an arm full of the packages so my brother and I had a snack stash that was "so cool!" I remember they had a sweet taste and amazing texture. At that point they were at most 20 years old and likely better tasting than the ones you tried.
Saw a short on facebook and couldn't find your youtube channel, had to mess with the filters but now here i am! I like your style :D

Strange. Curious what you had to do with the filters, and thanks for taking the effort and the feedback. What in particular do you like about the style? I feel like I'm still figuring my style out.

@@survivedoomsday no problem! It's the laid back style, editing and the opening humour which was slightly goofy lol
Get a second container for the water. Pour the water back and forth several times and it will taste better. Stored water is always going to taste stale.

Just goes to show our senses can be deceiving, smelling anyways. Good video.
