4:34. One of the main problems regarding "Parmigiano Reggiano" in the world, is due to translation. Because the translators translate Parmigiano Reggiano with…”Parmesan”. The point is that the true original Parmigiano Reggiano is not always hidden under the name “Parmesan”. The name “Parmigiano Reggiano” (even “Grana Padano”) should remain unchanged all over the world (as for example Gorgonzola) and not be translated into other languages.

I find it normal for names to get translated. For example in Romanian the parmigiano becomes parmezan and the spaghetti become spaghete. It's just like with human names, in English you have John, in Italian Giovanni I suppose, in Romanian Ion, in German Johann, in French Jean, in Russian Иван (Ivan), it goes the same way for foods too

But often it is some other mixture especially the one bought grated in the sachets. That is why I would be of the opinion to remain the original names of certain things (we leave aside the names of the people, because there we know that every nation has its own name). Gorgonzola, Mozzarella, for example, also remain original and are not translated in other languages. So why do we have to translate “Parmigiano Reggiano” ? We can, if we want, translate the name “Formaggio” (cheese), but not the proper name of a particular cheese. PS: for example, the French cheese "Camembert"…..I in Italian (my language) cannot call it in another name, otherwise it would no longer be the original. We could also make examples with the various types of wines. Everyone says the word "wine" in their own language, but the various types of wine (Pino Grigio, Barolo, etc.) are said with their original name.

It's probably a restricted trademark in the EU so you can't use the same name if your cheese comes from elsewhere.
